She is very grateful @ladysummerisle, I now have many favours in the bank
I have more success selling than buying on Vinted to be honest although I have bought a few good things. The quality/ standard is a bit hit and miss with sellers having different opinions on "very good condition". I have made £90.85 in the last few weeks so will withdraw that and send it to the savings account.
Another no spend day - yay - but MPG is back down to 37, was clearly not paying attention on the commute!
Just updating my £ spreadsheet and will then list five bits on Vinted as have a lot of summer clothes to get rid of and I'm thinking now is the perfect time.
Looking forward to a quiet weekend catching up on jobs around the house, am going to buy some top soil tomorrow as my lawn is really bumpy for some reason, it feels like the mower has square wheels in placesI'd love to come home from work one day to find that my garden has been landscaped as a surprise, I have zero "vision" so it is very boring with a rectangular lawn and a flowerbed around the outside, it's also on a bit of a slope which is irritating!
Could also do with sticking my head in the loft. I had a wasps nest up there last year but when the pest control person had a look they said the nest was deserted and it wasn't anything to worry about. I have visions of opening the hatch and it's just one waspy buzzing stingy nightmareMay 25 - £1,112 of 15k emergency fund + £124,972 mortgage outstanding3 -
I have a wonderful bro and sis in law who would have our older children for a few days in the school holidays before they moved further away.
I am eternally grateful and the bonds they built are still very strong. They travel up to see them once or twice a year without us. I am sure it will be the same for you 🥰 and your niece.
Well done on the Vinted Sales l agree about people's version of "very good" been widely different to my own.

If you’re going to poke at the lawn anyway, why not make a crocus lawn? They’re one of the first signs spring is on its way. Green shoots etc.
Maybe a small tree too, to draw the eye up?MFW diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6254913/never-a-good-time-but-here-goes#latest

I love that @carboot_karaoke, I really hope that we stay close! My worst Vinted experience was a pair of jeans that had been worn without underwear and not washed. I was traumatised
I already have some crocuses in the borders @ladysummerisle, my problem is that once it's spring I want to mow the lawn IMMEDIATELY after having had to look at it being all straggly through winter! Tulips are my absolute favourite, closely followed by snowdropsI have a few honeysuckles, roses and passionflowers climbing the fences but it just doesn't look very well planned out. I'd love a tree but think it would be too big, the garden is only three fence panels by 6
I think I definitely need to have a look at the gardening area, thank you for the recommendation @Working_Mum!
Today ended up being VERY splurgey which wasn't planned. I got the soil from the garden centre but also bought some plants that I absolutely don't need and will more than likely kill.
I also bought a new bedI have had my eye on it for a while and it was reduced to half price. I don't need a new bed but was planning on replacing it in the next year or so. I have had all the "I deserve it because I work hard" conversations in my head but I know better than that and need to stick to the plan. I also now need to add painting the bedroom to the to do list before it arrives! I will have a look to see of there are any local charities that can use the old bed, I am keeping the mattress so it is just the base and the headboard.
Need to have a very frugal weekend and get listing on Vinted to minimise the dent to my bank balance!

Five items listed on Vinted, three sold and posted off.
Lots of tidying, cleaning, laundry and drying.
DIdn't do park run but did run 5k this morning.
Spent an hour or so in the garden reading my book which was lovely.
I am feeling really guilty though as I should have spent some time trying to catch up with work but I just can't face it.
Managed a no spend day, but I need to pick up a gift tomorrow for a friend's birthday so will probably do that first thing after walking the doggo then back home away from temptation!May 25 - £1,112 of 15k emergency fund + £124,972 mortgage outstanding3 -
Another five items listed on Vinted and four items sold, will get them posted off tomorrow. My wardrobe is already easier to manage and I have £ in the bank too. I am trying to reduce the number of items I own, I am terrible for having multiple back ups of things and buying multiples of the same item but in different colours. I have enough shampoo and conditioner to last me the whole year, the same with cleaning products, I am steadily using things up and not buying replacements if I already have something I can use up instead.
Went in to town briefly this morning to get the pressie for my friend, also popped in to Savers for some more mouthwash (I like Peroxyl but it's really hard to find).
Managed a few more chapters of the book, a lot of people rave about it but I'm not sure I'm bothered about reading the next book in the series. I prefer thrillers or crime type books.
I have loads of podcasts on my phone to work my way through so listened to one by Mel Robbins while I was ironing. I feel like there is so much health related advice out there and while the basics are obvious (less processed food, more exercise) everything else just seems to be contradicted by something else you see or hear - do intermittent fasting/ don't do intermittent fasting, eat meat/ don't eat meat, walk 10k steps/ the 10k steps is a made up marketing thing - it's quite exhausting!
My last car payment goes out tomorrow so I'll be able to start paying that amount in to my emergency savings account from next payday. The car is in for a service and MOT soon though which always fills me with anxiety even though I have savings put to one side to cover the cost!May 25 - £1,112 of 15k emergency fund + £124,972 mortgage outstanding4 -
Today was an office day, boo, although the commute has increased my mpg back up to 38 from 37.
Posted the Vinted bits on my way home. Haven't listed anything this evening as didn't get home until 6:30ish.
Very low spend day, only spent £3 on my lunch (work canteen), if I eat at work then I don't tend to bother with dinner.
Another day in the office tomorrow. I find it really draining, I have no idea how I used to do this five days a week and go to the gym or run errands on my way home!. I basically get home, fetch the dog, feed her, have a shower, read for half an hour or watch TV and then go to bedMay 25 - £1,112 of 15k emergency fund + £124,972 mortgage outstanding2 -
Another office day and the commute to work was HORRIFIC with all of the rain, didn't even look at my mpg!
The day went by pretty quickly anyway and was soon home again.
Low spend day again, another £3 for lunch (budgeted) but then another £1 for a Snickers bar. Im sure I can remember when they were 33p.
Still trying to finish A Court of Thorns and Roses. It is getting a little better towards the end but the whole "Harry Potter but with the odd bit of naughtiness" genre really isn't for me.
Have updated my spreadsheet, nothing exciting to report there, just need to really focus on sticking to my budget now. I have plenty of DIY jobs to do at home where I already have the bits I need, I have my Kindle so can download a book to read, plenty of podcasts to listen to, I need to catch up on some work I am doing for a qualification through work tooI am such a procrastinator

MPG is still at 38 after another commute. That is my three days in the office done and I am so glad!
Another low spend day, only lunch which was budgeted.
STILL trying to finish the bookI think it'll be done by the weekend. Might pop to the library on Saturday.
Was gutted this morning, logged in to my mortgage account and my valuation according to the house price index thingy had reduced back down to the valuation when I bought it which changed my LTV from 56% to 72%. Spent all morning being more than a little bit mardy with everyone (apologies to my colleagues!). Decided to recheck mid-afternoon and it was back to the 56% so it must have been a glitch THANK GOODNESS!
Have a delivery date for the new bed so could really do with getting a bit of painting done before the end of the month. Gah. Serves me right!May 25 - £1,112 of 15k emergency fund + £124,972 mortgage outstanding5
