do you think that one of these packs would have enough veg in to feed 4 adults and 3 children???0
-
ive taken the turkey off the list and put on another chicken, we'd be able to use some of the left over for sandwiches wouldnt we
i didnt know if you could cook chicken again though once its already been cooked once before?????0 -
Well lets see - is cheaper than carrots at 55p and turnip at £1.39 so could have 2 bags for that and should have enough to make soup with your stock left so yes I think so.
You can cook the chicken and freeze it or keep in fridge for another day and reheat it once only after that - it is fine. I have still turkey in the freezer from xmas daySaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0 -
thats a good idea then i shall put that on my list the carrots are only going to be sliced up anyways and mashed a bit with the turnip so they dont have to look pretty !!!!0

Thats my favourite - carrot and turnip mash - lovely - I am spoilt as I get my turnips from a farmer for nothing. Have you got a store cupboard and freezer with stuff in also? I got loads of cheap offers in Tesco to-day - 6 free range eggs - date 9th january for 20p and chicken ready to cook with honey and mustard sauce - 2 breasts for £1.64. Also had mackerel for 74p for 3 medium ones so dinner sorted tomorrow night too. You have done well - let us know what the eventual price of the shopping is.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

I was wondering why your just buying from ASDA when you can buy good produce from farm shops. The one near us has 3 chicken breasts for £3 (these have enough on them to do two meals (chicken curry and roast dinner) and they taste much nicer than supermarket meat that's could have come from anywhere. I'd definitely shop around for items.0

I am getting 3 hens at point of lay in March and have a henhouse all ready for them in the garden to bring down costs and have lovely eggs - probably costs more! Will look forward to your posts
