Glad the new job is going well

Got my credit card statement and have made a pretty big payment. Comfortably under 2k which is very motivating and feels brilliant! I don’t seem to have paid any interest either, maybe I didn’t owe any, which is a nice feeling. I am really determined not to fall into the trap of using the credit card either, I could pay it off in a little over four months with a bit of belt tightening so will aim for that.
Really enjoyed the law part of the module I studied last week and am idly wondering about taking my law studies further. Either that or save up to take two or three weeks off work and go backpacking.
Just watching the news. The hurricane in Jamaica looks terrifying. I hope they escape as well as they can and few people are killed or injured.
Back to the new site to work today. I wasn’t that keen on working there yesterday but I don’t have to go there too often.Credit card 2000

Hello @itsthelittlethings - there are lots of opportunities in law firms and legal practices, and a good way to start is at entry level admin or similar roles depending on what parts of the law you're interested in. Many employers offer training and exam support as well as good employee benefits.itsthelittlethings said:Got my credit card statement and have made a pretty big payment. Thank you. I will start to look out for jobs in law firms perhaps. My field is admin anyway. I was reading about different areas of law this morning, I know people always moan about conveyancers but it does sound quite interesting.Saver73 said:

Thanks for saying I sound more motivated jwil. I do feel it and feel I’m starting to get the hang of budgeting. Splitting the week up into months is a handy trick. We’ll see how I do once I get to the end of this month.
Thursday tomorrow and then the weekend although I’m doing some overtime. It’ll be worth it when I pay off some more debt!Credit card 2000

Ooh that overtime sounds like a great idea, you're really starting to make big strides forward - well done!1

Another Thursday rolls around. At least tomorrow is Friday. Overtime on Saturday should be fairly quiet. I’ve been given a task to do and will spend some time reviewing some training I did. Then on Sunday I need to do all my chores and write my assignment for my course. Next Thursday is the deadline so I’ll aim to submit on Wednesday. I also have an unused day pass for the gym which has been transferred to Sunday. It’ll be a busy day!
Have just bought two more bags of coffee at £25. I also need to do a food shop sometime although I might do that on Monday. Or perhaps Saturday night as it will be nice and quiet in the supermarket. I need to plan my meals for next week.

Two spending wins today, managed a no-spend day and got two lots of leftover cheese sandwiches from the cafe at work at the end of the day. I made grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner with them and they were very nice! Quite pleased with myself for that.Credit card 2000

Another Friday, another lot of weekly allowance. Bought some Christmas cards (£15) and some hair oil (£20). Checked my bank account, my service charge has gone up to £190 which I think I did have a letter about. It’s annoying anyway.
Have £100 slack in my bank account so that’s £100 of my £250 overdraft I won’t need to use. At least it is there if I need it. I was debating making another payment towards the credit card but I think it’s best not to.
It’s raining a bit outside which I didn’t think was forecast. I’m going to do a bit of studying before work.
