Applied, been accepted. Am I right to read it as simple as this...

29th May - My switch date

Pay £1k in after 29th plus have 2 direct debits come out plus 10 debit card transactions.

£100 received.

Then when received, day after, put £1k in again and continue with 10 debit card transactions monthly. Continue this for 3 months. £25 per month will be received.

My question is, I am just going to pay £1 to various companies (Water, Elec, Credit Card etc) all on one day = £10 of debit card transactions. Is this allowed?

I would say you need to use your debit card 10 times per month, like buy a coffee, buy some milk at Tesco etc although buying online items probably would qualify.
Whenever I've had an offer to make a required number of debit card transactions for cash back  (TSB account springs to mind) I've just transferred enough funds  from my main account to satisfy the the requirements and used that for a while.

Any Visa Debit transaction is fine, although note that you'll need to call them up to set up a 3D Secure password in order to use it online. Allow an hour for this, tho it's probably going to take 20-40 mins.

Direct debits need to be set up, no payments necessary.

Note also that the months are based on whichever day they sent you the bonus, not calendar months.

From experience when I was meeting the terms of their incentive last year, I was able to use my debit card online at some retailers (but not all) without calling them to activate the card. My energy provider at the time as well as Amazon accepted my card for use online. Multiple transactions for £1 each was enough to meet the requirement. Otherwise, my usual go to is to just put 5x random items through the self serve at Tesco when it's quiet.

From the way the T&Cs are worded, it sounds like you can set up two new direct debits once you've switched, they don't have to be transferred from an old account. Can anyone confirm this? The account I'm planning on switching from doesn't have any current DDs.

Does anybody know if you need to set up a digital  wallet for debit transactions, or can you just use the card normally. For the switch incentive?

    Use the card normally.

IIRC you had (last switch offer) to load the card to your digital wallet but don't have to use it.
I did 10 x £1 DC deposits to one of my saving acs... and did one purchase via the wallet to be sure.

The latest switch offer does not state that you need to add a card or use a digital wallet

    • making ten or more card or digital wallet transactions (pending transactions will not count)

I have just applied for a new Co-Op account and I am looking to take advantage of this switching offer. I wanted to ask, is there a good option for setting up 2 cheap direct debits? I remember you used to be able to use Post Office savings accounts and set up direct debits which would send money into them. That option was withdrawn a few years ago I believe. I don't particularly want to swap any of my direct debits from my main bank account as they are quite important, and I also get rewards related to paying bills through DD. Also, can anyone clarify what is meant by "digital wallet payments"? I assumed it meant Google Pay or Apple Pay but apparently it's nothing to do with that?
