    Hi everyone,

Just a reminder to all old hands and info for new members of the thread:

When you would like to have your totals in the first post updated please PM (private message) me the following information - 1. Your total for the month 2. Your overall total so far this year.

It makes my life a lot easier if you do the maths for me! Also if you just say what your new totals are in the general thread I might miss it....

I am happy to take updates from you at any point in the month.

    Cheers,

    Bells Bells

    Hi can I join?

I currently have a mortgage of £277,005 with Northern Rock

Fortunately there is no limit on overpayments and we are currently stripping our savings and investments and chucking them into the pot - I aim to overpay £40,000 before our fixed rate period ends in December and thereafter I will be overpaying by £400 each month - one of the criteria for a new mortgage will be the ability to overpay.

I must admit I had never thought about overpaying until I came here, I just thought our mortgage would be with us forever

I want to be under £50K by the time I'm 50 (2013) but MF in 10 years

    Debt @ 31.01.10 £324,422
    Debt @ 31.01.11 £311,289

    Get debts under £300k by 31.12.11 £561/£11,850 at 15/1/11

I havent been on here much lately and after a disappointing April overpayment of £190/£310 I have upped the effort this month and have an overpayment of £350.

I think I am averaging around £340 a month so far with a target of £310 so I am happy with that.

    Keep going everyone:T

    And welcome all newbie MFWs
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    Thank youuuuu!

That's an excellent overpayment - I wish I could do the same. Every little helps though I guess.

Of course it does:T we could always be spending it on huge amounts of chocolate, vodka or red wine couldn't we Snaggs?:rotfl:

Although these items are in my sensible monthly budget, you have to have a bit of a life while on the DFW/MFW journey.;)

Right guys, I am up for this challenge!

I have 45k I need to get paid off first and I want to have it paid off by Dec 2009 then I will be moving onto my mortgage - its a whopper so it won't be easy.

I am going to have to really work hard on this one. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement, I have read all your posts and they really help!!

    Any ideas on savings?

:j Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for ages either - due to still not having internet at home! Anyway, I managed £50 overpayment for April so my total is £450 so far - I seem to have got into the habit now of £50 a month, after an amazing start of £300 in the first month! I ran the figures in the overpayment calculator though and found that the humble £50 will make a huge difference! Well done everybody, we're doing great.:j
