    Hi could I join please.
I really want to reduce mortgage by as much as possible, but realistically think it will only be about £10 pm, as we are 5 months into the year my target should be £70, but I will stretch myself and say the full £120 to OP by before end of year.
    OP to date £10.

    Hi all
I have just cancelled a subscription I had that was £30 a month, so once mortgage is sorted with HSBC I will set up a standing order. Never realised that this would save me £6000 in interest and 18months off term, I am stunned at what a difference such a small overpayment can make.

    Hope everyone is doing well.

    Hi Bellsbells
Just to let you know my total for May (so far) is £200, I will hopefully make up the other £100 of my target by the end of the month although we are going away so might not quite make it :@(
I have been moved at work and am paid a disturbance allowance which I started getting this month so I am hoping to add the extra £50 per month onto my overpayments :j

Any how, keep up the great work you do - ps how are you feeling now????

Hiya - bit late with my first month's update but so far my figures are looking okay - haven't paid off quite as much as I'd like, but I have a sharesave maturing in August which will hopefully knock £3,500 or so off the totals.

    01/04/08 - mortgage & secured loan total = £37,285.48

    15/05/08 - mortgage & secured loan total = £36,913.47

    Mortgage capital reduced by = £372.01. :)

    ps Congratulations bellsbells :T

Hiya Snaggles, nice to see a familiar face in here (I am V Sensible on this thread):D

Well done on the overpayment and :T if you manage to pay off £3500 in one go.

I have made little progress this month but today I have managed to clear some work for clients which will bring in £170 so I should be able to overpay by £310 with whats lying in the Overpayment Account and money still to come.

I have a seperate account that I keep just for money I will be overpaying with. I pay any extra income such as Extra work from my PT business, mystery shopping money, quidco earnings spare cash (Ha whats that) etc. This way I keep my money totally seperate and I can check my "overpayment Balance" regularly. Once a month I just write a cheque out from this account to the mortgage company. Psychologically it works for me:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
