My £100 standing order should have hit the mortgage account yesterday/today.

I have made an extra payment of £300 for April so that is a week off my mortgage. Blooming heck £300 to cut the mortgage by a week that means that each year if I stick to this I lose three months off the end date. I need to get my act in gear it's nearly half way through the year and I won't meet my target without a bit more effort. I'm off to the OS board to work out how to spend less on food.

Yay! I have reached my rainy day savings target of £1000:j I have also now overpayed £1090 so I am planning on reducing my term so that it is not sat in my overpayment fund being tempting - I want it totally gone! So all in all a good month so far. I am looking forward to finding out how much time my mortgage will reduce by. At the moment I still have 15 years 5 months to go.

  • Hi,

Well done Bellsbells you've met all your targets already!

We have made an overpayment this month of £239 to round our mortgage up to £650. The first larger overpayment in a while! Rather chuffed! :money:

Although I got rather depressed with the online mortgage thing as the mortgage went up and up and up everytime I looked at it! Stupid interest!!!
    :o

Mine does that because the interest is added daily. I just tend to look after each overpayment just to make sure it has hit the account and not gone astray.
