Wow dingling that's quite an overpayment, makes mine seem paltry. I did manage a little extra this month since I got a quidco payment through so £282.50 for May making a total overpayment of £1250 for the year. This is nearly a full month's repayment
and leaves me well on target in terms of overpayments for the year. It is amazing me how well I can stick to this providing I get the money out of my account BEFORE I start spending
Well done to you all too.

Finally have plucked up courage to post rather than lurking enviously.
Have had mortgage pig, called "Martina"for 3 months and overpaid at least £35 each month so far.
Now am going to try and make a commitment to pay off some serious money and clear my debts by the end of 2008 (apart from mortgage). Eleven years to go on mortgage zt the moment so will post some targets soon!
Thanks guys, you have been my inspiration

Hi been checking out site for few months and always looking for ways to pay off our mortgage early, please can I join this thread? Overpayment target for 2008 is £2000, so far paid off £800. Love the idea of paying off balance even with tiny amounts extra- we have £10 in copper saved, will put this into mortgage pot instead of wasting it now.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Just had some great news. Hubby has been promoted at work, with a £4k payrise. As he's a teacher, the promotion won't start until September, but we've agreed that we can live without the extra money so it'll go straight off the mortgage.
brilliant news! Well done to Mr Sosh:beer:

Hi, can I join in? I took out a £90,000 mortgage over 17 years when I bought my house for £249,950 in August 2004. I've been making overpayments whenever I've been able to, and my mortgage is now down to £65,000 (house value around £300,000 now). My present 2-year fixed rate deal with the Halifax (5.75%) expires in December, by which time I'm hoping to have reduced the outstanding amount to £60,000. I'm thinking of taking out a Lifetime Tracker at that point. And then, I hope to pay the mortgage off in the next 7 years.
welcome Hels50 - I have put your target down as reduce mortgage to under 60K

Hi all, back from my non-moneysaving holiday and after 2 weeks of constantly spending I am ready to get back into the groove. I have some cash left but I have still to work out how much I put on the credit card then I can put the balance of my holiday fund (if there is one) towards my mortgage.
Great to see so many new members and I wish you all well in your chase of your targets.
Bells,
I pm'd you my May figures but have noticed that first post has not been updated, do you need them again?0 -
Hi all
Great news - have got a job starting in September. I'm just finishing training to be a Secondary English teacher and I really am chuffed to bits, if not slightly terrified...
Does anyone know when in the month teachers get paid or does this vary depending on LA?
Also, I keep reading on here that people have done their clicks for today. What does this mean?
Many thanks
