I can afford my tat! It's the husband I'm struggling to fund! Ha ha.

We don't share the same ethics on money. I'm pay off and save save save (with in reason though). And he's ooooh I need new trainers or coat etc...
He's not that bad really, but it annoys me that he spends way more than I do and doesn't even feel guilty about it.

Tell me about it. My hubby loves ordering dvds, computer games and books. What really annoys me is that he refuses to use any cash back sites. He said the amount he would get doesn't make it worth his while!?!
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

OOOOOh mines like that. He thinks the cashback sites are dodgy! I keep trying to explain that I've had money back and that they aren't, but will he have it???

NO! ARGH! Very frustrating. Whats more frustrating is that I still have no job. Although I've found 2 to apply for. My last payment for teacher training is in June. So would be nice to know I have a job in September.....keep fingers crossed people.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm a teacher and I didn't get my first job until after the May half term. There will be loads of jobs advertised after the Easter resignation deadline.

Thanks for having me as a late comer, I'll do my best to make up for it!
My mortgage is currently 84500, I'm allowed to make overpayments of £500 per month, so thats my goal.I'm going to put my premium bonds into the A & L 10% cash Isa and try to put 250 back into the premium bonds per month (can't resist the slim chance of a win!) I got the Egg card in Dec and my Barclaycard came through this week, so after much reading and contemplation of the stooze forum will gingerly dip a toe in. Got a plan worked out for paying off in 5 yrs, maybe a bit optimistic but its def worth a bash.
Always open to advice and if I think I can help I'll pipe up too

Just got back from a weekend away to find my annual mortgage statement waiting for me. This time last year, I was £19k ahead of my goal. Now I'm nearly £28k ahead. Yippeee!!

    Hi Guys

Glad to see we are all continuing to do so well - sory not been around for a while but have been v busy with Ds 3rd birthday and finding out we are expecting again so fingers crossed !!

I wonder if anyone can help shed some light on the following for me : since i started doing this challenge i have been keeping a daiily log of the interest i am charged on my mortgage - each day it is at a consistent amount (apart from once a month when it drops down after the main payment) but on Thursday it jumped up by three times the daily amount (regular daily amount plus two additional!) i wondered if it was maybe to do with the fact that it was easter and that because of the bank holidays they had lumped Thursday, Friday and Monday all together - but this cannot be right because each day it has continued to go up by the regular daily amount

anyone got any ideas? hope i managed to explain it clearly enough

That's fantastic news SPL. Many congratulations.

Not sure why your interest has changed so much. What do your mortgage company have to say about it?
