I want to buy something online and the website sells in Euros.  Whats the best debit or credit card to use without getting stung with a currency conversion fee/ bad exchange rate?

In the past I've used Chase, Nationwide Select and Halifax Clarity but I'm not sure if those ones are still the best picks around?

Chase is still fine. Anything that is forex free, there is a page on this site somewhere

Choose one of these cards, and of course pay in Euros.

This is no longer true.  Chase downgraded cashback earlier this month
The OP didn't ask about cashback. They asked about the conversion rate and fees on non-GBP purchases. My advice still stands about Chase being "fine" for that purpose.

You are of course correct!  Apologies.

Virgin Money also don't charge for foreign currency transactions.

    Cheers guys.

Would have also been interested to read about the cashback comments that got removed.  Although I'm assuming cashback has ended with Chase?  The product I'd be buying is a digital Xbox game, so I'm assuming that no longer qualifies for Chase cashback?

Chase cashback is now UKP Sterling transactions only, and on very limited transactions (supermarkets, car fuel, everyday transport).

Apologies for the churn on this thread, I deleted the cashback comment because it did seem irrelevant to your original question!

If you look at the travel card link you will see there are a few "good FX" cards that also pay some cashback.

If you want a cashback and zero fees on foreign transactions, you have three choices (AFAIK):
    1 - Barclaycard Rewards (0.25% cashback)
    2 - Trading 212 debit card (0.5% cashback)
3 - santander edge credit card (1% cashback with £3 a month fee)
