Hm... the problem is for the time being gone (I've only checked for the last two days so it may well come back  )... perhaps posting on MSE has magical powers?

Anyway it's good to know that the Now chat works and actually does something... a refreshing change to the black hole that is RWG mail. Next time I'll try them. Thanks @muffinhead !

I have had lots of issues with RWG over the last few months. The customer service is non-existent. The best thing is to complain to the Communications Ombudsman, select RWG on the drop down menu and let them know the issues you are having and the resolution you would like. They are friendly and will help resolve the issue and can even award compensation.

Just tried the live chat of now mobile for my other halfs RWG sim.
Took 5 mins from sim saying emergency calls only,to fully working again.
Now mobiles live chat is for sure the way to go.
No more sending e mails for her.
    Or me for that matter.
Cheers for the info muffin head
Did Sim fully work again by following these steps or did Now Mobile live chat do something else

Please turn the automatic network selection off, and manually select the Now mobile network.
Find "Network operators" Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen. ...
Select network automatically. Press Choose automatically.
Select network manually. Press Search networks and your phone will search for networks. ...
    Return to the home screen

Live chat did something else, they messaged me to "please restart phone"

Hmmm. My request for a PAC code has yielded an unhelpful response -

"You have already requested a 0 for this number, your 0 code is N/A and will expire 4/30/2025"

Anyone else having similar? This is the Now Mobile variant, specifically a 'buy and forget' SIM card purchased 2 years ago.

Suspicious!  Are they deliberately sabotaging the "forever" SIMs that were a one-off pay upfront?
A bit like Ovivo - big incentives for the money rakers to destroy their opting out of rip-off contracts.  I bet there was a few backhanders done when they closed down.

@Farway Just logged into my account and the original order and details are still there. But I assume that it's just a matter of time until this all goes up in smoke.
@Murmansk The number is unimportant but I still have the original £15 credit. Will have to think about what to do there... any RWG "fellow sufferers" out there with an idea?
And it's clear now that RWG/Now is one big No-No.

Join the club. It took me six days and multiple emails for my £5 to credit to my account. They never replied either.
RWG customer service is an oxymoron. Going elsewhere!

OFCOM rules mandate that your network has to provide a PAC to you within a minute. See this link:
    https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/switching-provider/switching-mobile-phone-provider

Try the on-line chat if the text request returns a nonsensical response.

OFCOM rules or not, I did receive a similar reply, to that WillPS did, from RWG, when texting for a PAC. This was a few months ago when the service went down and I could only receive calls before and after that loss of service.
I was able to contact their C.S. and did obtain a PAC that way.

Same here. That's the message I got just now (with today's date).
I can still make & receive calls/texts at the moment, but keep reading unfavorable reviews for RWG, so if I do manage to get a PAC, I'm going to switch to another provider.
