Ah, sympathies @greenbee … Perhaps prioritise sorting the current one as after all you are adding more funds to that every month?Sounds like a very planny plan for the greenhouse 😊👏

I'm actually adding more to the 'old' ones each month than goes into my current employer's pension. That's how rubbish it is... I only put in the max I need to in order to maximise their contribution and they're not overly generous.
I've watered the houseplants. It's still cold here today, so I'm waiting for the greenhouse to warm up before doing anything outside. The dog is unimpressed (he's been walked and fed, cats have been fed and turned up their noses at this morning's offerings).2 -
The OATs for this weekend are to
- fix up the outdoor tortoise enclosure so he can be out all weekend while I'm away,
- to try on the clothes I ordered for an upcoming fancy day out, so that I can send back the ones I don't want and get a refund (possibly all of them)
- Have a look at the washing machine to see if it's an easy fix (not really an OAT but it soon will be because I don't want to)
- Write a quote for some potential work that I might already be too late with.
It's raining here at the moment but I am hoping it will clear up later as that will make the outdoor tasks more enjoyable.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

I know this is not really the place for this but don't know where is. Were not Camelot stopped from advertising from their website because of gambling addictions. I was sure they had some restrictions placed on them. I am wondering because I have on online account for the lottery & the new ones are are regularly emailing suggesting I buy tickets in various of the lotteries & also that spending £10 a week will put you in a draw for £10k. It isn't going to make me spend more but I do have serious worries. Why can they & Camelot not & should I complain & who would be beswt to do that to.So I guess this is my really must get round to doing / OAT3

Maybe this will help @badmemoryhttps://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/
I've got gravel trays and pots set up in the greenhouse, and am now sorting out the irrigation system. Of course, the way it was set up for the old greenhouse isn't quite right for the new one, so I need to take it all apart and stick it back together differently! I also need to see whether I have any misters as well as drippers. And then fill the water butt from the hose and test it all... (which also means unpacking the new hoses and getting them wound onto the empty reels).
So much of this stuff is (hopefully!) one-time activity which will mean less to do next time/next year, that it's going to be worth it. I just hope I get it all set up before the plants give up!3 -
Thanks Greenbee, complaint is in. The good news is that is one job done which I would normally simmer over for a couple of weeks. The right place after all!!3

@rachmac3 I’m very intrigued about the tortoise worm count thing? I bought a tortoise from a pet shop c. 1969 I called Persephone and she had worms. I recall the vet prescribing something right back then which sorted them. Another one got a tick my Granddad killed with his cigarette end!
Today’s OAT - decision to put up a little gate to block out my nice neighbour’s rather trashy bits like plants in a pottery donkey, plastic toadstools and a duck with a yellow brolly. It could also deter unpleasant starey neighbour crossing our garden when, despite him having right of way, he can simply go up his steps onto the public pathway. It will still be a right of way as we will simply put a latch on it so postie etc can get by.

Hi @Sallyforth it's just like worming the dog really, except I use a paste or solution on his food. I only worm him when he needs it and he's been fine since 2019. I usually send a 'sample' off to be tested at the end of the summer, so I know he's clear to hibernate but the little terror refused to give me any and decided to hibernate anyway. We argued about it til mid December and then I gave in and let him sleep 😂
He's 19 this year so I figured he was old enough to make his own decision.
His official name is Tellini, as in tortellini, but his nickname (which he usually comes to) is Trev.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

I've got the greenhouse set up and tomato plants in. Irrigation system isn't working, but I think it might have been left on and so drained the battery. Fingers crossed it charges up tomorrow and works, otherwise I may need to get another pump.
Now I need to sort out the remaining tomato seedlings as they're looking very sad and leggy, and I may have homes for them, and also get the rest of the veg plants in.4 -
@badmemory - the right place indeed!I'm almost embarrassed by today's OAT but it's been done so here it is.
I borrowed a cook book from the library and there were 4 good recipes in it that I thought I would write out for my recipe folder. I have taken the time to go online and renew the book TWICE rather than get around to writing out the recipes. How ridiculous is that?
anyway today I got my best notebook and favourite pen and spent a grand total of 10 minutes writing and filing the recipes,6
