What a great start we are all making!I had my dentist appointment today that had been an OAT for over a year. Afterwards I just wondered why the heck it had become such a big deal and why I had put it off for so long? Hygienist next week.
I am doing a list for April. It would be easy to just have a list of the usual life admin stuff to do but I want to keep tackling more long term or bigger tasks. I think it might involve tackling some of the garage stuff which will need to be a joint endeavour with MrBC.
our BIG item for 2025 is writing wills and POA's. Just asking myself why I'm not putting this on the April list? Why would I think this will be any easier in May or September or December? 🤷♀️6 -
Well done on the dentist appointment @Blackcats

Thank you for doing this @PennysIntoPounds I just realised it was happening over here after visiting your diary. Bookmarked
I lost track last time so my plan is to list two priority actions for each day that I have been putting off...I'm only listing income generating, priority actions, in true MSE style!
Tomorrow- phone pp and send requested info
- find old tax info

Thanks so much @PennysIntoPounds for starting this thread by popular demand!
Good start to April today by completing revamping my finances spreadsheet for the next tax year. It doubles up as a budget plus (hopefully) a means of accurately tracking interest payments.Whilst doing above I set DH some gentle tasks. He successfully painted a random bit of wood white to tone in with patio baseboard, varnished our neighbour’s four wooden ducks that sit outside our front door and painted the rusty plant holder with silver Hammerite. Did I mention the waiting rose garden shop let us keep this faulty item and sent us a replacement? So now we have two delightful three planter stands for the price of one!Happy April everyone!Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

RIP Mum & Dad - thanks for helping me on my journey to be
Debt and Mortgage free from 20182 -
I’m in again although I wasn’t the best at posting on the March one just reading 😬 Today I’ve Made A Start on sorting out the recipes I’ve cut out of magazines/printed off and been very ruthless, will I actually make them, if no I don’t keep them. I’ve got as far as soups and lunch ideas. All indexed and put in a folder. I plan to chip away a few a day until the job is done.I’m also compiling a list of lots of other jobs I’ve been putting off.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

I did my LPA last year and felt much better having done it! Also encouraged my mum to do hers - she sent it off a couple of weeks ago
I'm not making a list of OATs I don't think. We are beset with half finished DIY and general chaos, and while I am usually a BIG fan of lists, I'm trying to see ticking off these OATs as cheerful, and doing the thing that is annoying me most on any given day. I've got plenty of other lists on the go, so in reality I should probably do the things on those!
Anyway, today's OATs:- emailed bank details for the refund
- finally edited and sent the complaint to the gas people

LPA is on my list as well.
Both ipads erased and reset. Laptop erased, but apparently the OS restore was corrupted on the server, so it has no OS on it. Next job, before bed, is to find out whether any of them are worth trading in - and if so, get them sent off.
So it looks like one ipad and one laptop to be binned (due to age), and one possibly worth selling. I'm not overly worried, as they've been used until they really weren't useable anymore. And they're now all safely erased.2 -
That's a really good approach @Cheery_Daff, after all, we're meant to be tackling outstanding annoying tasks so whichever is annoying you most on any given day is the right one to progress! Maybe if you've done one by mid afternoon you could stealth approach something on another list🕴
Loving your sorting of the tech pile @greenbee, not only good to get them sorted and hopefully a few quid, but getting your table back will be a delight!
Only a few days ago I'd given up hope on selling a couple of my dad's ancient laptops I inherited but happened to be walking by a 'fix phones and computers' shop and saw a sign that they buy laptops- one of them sold for a fiver, and I made him promise he'd get in touch with my share if he sold it for a million pounds as a genuine antique 😁
Might be worth checking in dodgy looking high street shops if none of the usual places are interested3 -
No high streets in this part of the world (well there probably are, but I don't get to them in the limited time I have available outside of work), but a good idea for anyone who has access to them. The price for the less ancient item is the same in several places, so I need to decide which one to send it to. I think I'll leave that for tomorrow, but at least the other two can be bagged up ready for bin day next week!3
