By popular demand from the March Forward Into Spring thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6595248/march-forward-into-spring/p1
This is the April getting things done thread, Spring In Our Step (we'll have to save excellent acronyms for the next time we need group motivation @KajiKita, I can only use this title at this point in the year 😁)
Lots of people have been doing brilliantly at smashing their OATs (Outstanding Annoying Tasks) during March and now proper spring is here we want to keep up the good work of tackling those jobs that have been on the to-do list for ages, whether that's because they're time consuming, intimidating, or just really, really boring.
The aim is to choose at least one task a day that's been bothering us in the background of our lives, and do something about it!
Like with money, it all adds up- more niggling bothersome tasks; more stress and dissatisfaction. More progressing the things we know are a good idea; more smoothly running lives, enjoyable homes, and self-belief that actually we are very capable people.
Please do join us if this is of use to you, everyone very welcome 😊

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds for starting this new thread.
I think my first task for April will be writing a new OATs list.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Can I join you ladies and gents? My OAT's are simple, get through 100 emails a day, turns out I've got over 2500 unread ones, unsubscribe where I can, weed the tubs and sow seeds, finish kitting my sock and shred the paper mountain.
Thread name ideas, motivational may, jumping june, jogging july, aspiring august, sorting september and organise october spring to mind. hth£71.93/ £180.005 -
I'd like to join this month please. Inspired by you all I send a whole lot of texts/emails/whatsapps yesterday to get things moving on the house renovations (builder, plumber, drain man) and to the dog walker so the puppy can start getting used to it. So far the builder has got back to me.
I have lots of lists, so today's job probably needs to be getting them into one so I can start working through them properly. But the big OAT is the pile of old tech on the dining room table - it needs a factory reset on each of them, and then I can see whether I can get a fiver for them, or whether they're going to go in next week's electrical waste collection!6 -
On today's OAT list:
* send bank details to tyre people
* finish email to LPG people
Got some work-related ones too.
Hoping Mr C will get the curtain rail put up so I can finish the curtains. I'm hesitant to put that on my own OAT list but I will at the weekend if it's not already done.7 -
My OAT project today is to do my ‘life book’ with details of bank, funeral plans etc.
have sent off our POA formsCarolbee7 -
April isn't off to a good start as I missed my class today as I overslept.
It looks like another lovely day weather wise. I have to go to the pharmacy today and I was going to jet wash the garden as I have been putting that off since last September!4 -
104 emails deleted and 10 rounds of the sock done.£71.93/ £180.007

Two ipads erased and reset, and one parcel collection arranged. Just one laptop to erase and then I can see about sale/disposal of stuff that has been cluttering up the dining table for months!6

Lovely to see you all here, great progresses being made already by everyone 👏
Today's main achievement was several replies to our surveyor that weren't a string of frankly deserved obscenities!
Also just went and gave documents for a potential role rather than write it in the diary 'to get round to'.
And went out immediately to the post office to send a sale rather than write it on the to-do list and fret about it.
So not necessarily OATs but preventing OATs is just as important!
