Honey_Bear said:(((Hugs))) Valli.I'm so sorry I haven't been contributing but I'm still dealing with my wretched email account which went t*ts up about three weeks ago. I've had to report it to the police because yesterday some nurk set up a Ladbrokes acount in my name - I occasionally buy a lottery ticket but I am not a gambler. The police were lovely, Action Fraud is brilliant and I've changed passwords on three four email accounts (dont' ask) and am not feeling confident that's the end of it. Virgin have not been brilliant, so as soon as Belovéd can change his email provider we'll be knocking that contract on the head."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Morning all xx
Thank you HB xx
I WULTD, my head cleared after lunch and I felt more 'me' so I trundled round to see Pops and took him a couple of books to read. Glad I did: he calmly informed me he'd been at A&E that morning. Drove himself there. He'd phoned the doctor's on Friday to say he was vomiting blood and peeing blood, and they said they couldn't fit him in until the end of April!!! and to go straight to A&E. 24 hours later he decided maybe he ought to do as they said. I literally live round the corner as does my DB (in the other direction) and both of us would drop everything to chauffeur him, but nope ....he drove himself. He said A&E were quick and thorough, gave him an ultrasound and sent him home with antibiotics. In other news he's booked to go back to Benidorm next January.....
And breathe....
I'm up, made my bed, completed Strands with four hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with one life lost, and supped a brew.

Ongoing anxiety about the situation at work is not conducive to rest and relaxation. I will email top boss on Tuesday requesting clarification of my new roles and responsibilities. There's nothing that I can do about it til then. Let it go. Let it go. Nope. Niggle. Gnarl. Werret. Poke. STOP isn't working. Breathing isn't working. Just got to keep wading through the treacle....
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.
Kettle's on.

jwil said:Just delurking to say this happened to me a few years ago. As I'm not a gambler either, as well as changing passwords etc I set up a self exlusion on all gambling sites so no further accounts could be opened up using my details. It seems to have resolved the problem.Thank you for that jwil. Much appreciated. I will do that as soon as I have read up on how to go about it.Just spent another 36 minutes on a call to the bank about this fiasco. You think you've done everything you need to do and then another whack-a-mole pops up.(((Hugs))) Round. I can see why you call it Toxic Towers. I hope things settle down fairly soon. As for your father driving himself to A&E - it's not difficult to understand why people don't want to give up their independence but it is worrying.Bird bath scrubbed and refilled, newly seeded patch of grass that has sprung watered from a great height because in this weather I want to get this patch fully established before I move on to the next area. I've managed to deter the pigeons by putting chicken wire down over the area and bought some kid's whirly gig things which the pigeons don't like because they're shiney and they twirl in the wind, a solution to a problem that's been annoying for years.First load of laundry twirling, cats pop ups done for tonight, and plans laid for tomorrow which is complicated.Better is good enough.5

HB - the last time he had the same symptoms Pops passed out in the hotel restaurant and came to, hours later, in Intensive Care. But did that stop him driving himself to A&E yesterday? Nope. There's a fine line between independence and idiocy. Maybe I'm too harsh....🤷♀️
And thank you. I need clarification of my roles and responsibilities. At the moment what I was offered and what I've got are two different things. Not conducive to a happy Round. 22 more paydays 😉 If I can stick that long.
Having a coffee. Join me? Lovely sunshine bit that wind is 🥶.

I totally get it with your father, Round. Determination to be independent is one thing, idiocy another. I'm with you. My mother, who had Parkinson's, was convinced she was a safe driver with the illness and she absolutely wasn't.I've dangled the first load, half knitted the second load, grated some cheese that is bound for the freezer, have two very large pans of pea, cucumber, mint and ham soup on the hob, and am halfway through making the ham, cheese and leek pie filling recipe. It's not getting a pie lid because it doesn't need one to go with roast veggies.Better is good enough.5

Today has disappeared again. 2 loads of washing done and dried outside. LR dusted and vacuumed along with the hall and stairs. I got some sowing and planting done at the allotment - then promptly kicked my fork which did a tidy slow motion fall…right onto the newly planted broad beans. I wasn’t feeling the garden love any more this afternoon, so I have been kitchen bound. Falafels for tonight are prepped, plus I have made a sponge cake and a quiche, and am currently stirring a rice pudding whilst I type. Multitasking or what.4

Round…I was set against stepdad getting his licence back. I think he crashed on day 10. He’s talking about being able to drive again in a year. His brother agrees with me, that he shouldn’t drive again. I’ll be fighting tooth and nail if i have to.
Other than that i don’t feel too good so in bed early.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
