A quick note from me before the witching hour, to say that I have sorted another shoeboxful of photo packages into date order. More school trips, one holiday that I had completely forgotten about, and some photos of my second goddaughter aged about 3 - she's now 27. When I've sorted the third (final) box, I shall need to consolidate the contents of all three boxes, as the dates overlap to some extent. Then I will also add in the contents of the photo albums and loose pictures, before starting the big cull. I can already see a small area of the bottom of the Trunk of Treasure, but there are more boxes of 35mm slides than I had estimated previously. Major decluttering ahead!
I had my booster Covid jab this afternoon in my right arm (the side with the painful shoulder). I can do most things with my left hand, and if the jab site does become painful I am hardly likely to notice it
Welcome to Newbies,

Morning all,
Yesterday disappeared in a haze of a morning haircut followed by the rest of the day wielding the paintbrush. Flying has gone by the by but there is still plaster dust in evidence downstairs, along with cobwebs upstairs *sigh*. It really is never ending, isn’t it. Hopefully the painting is nearly there (although I have noticed a way less than perfect patch now the sun is coming from a different angle, hmmm can I ignore it?) apart from the stubborn corner where the plaster is proving slow to dry.Today I had hoped to get to the allotment as it has been abandoned for decorating, but I really ought to make a flying effort upstairs. DD will be home later as we have to go to the big city hospital tomorrow morning. Her humungous delivery from Mr M will be preceding her this afternoon. Must remember to liberate some dinner from the freezer to make way for her freezer shopping.
Have a good day all, off to read my lists. I maybe some time procrastinating and need a good shove up the wotsit.6 -
I have made some cakes for tomorrow, just need to put icing and sprinkles on them.Spend less now, work less later.7

Honey_Bear said:Crikey GSDMum - you've got your work cut out. That would take me a month! Welcome aboard and good luck with it.
This afternoon I'm scrubbing on hands and knees the kitchen floor (it needs it, a mopping won't do), and so also I've a plan to sow carrot seeds.6 -
Today I sorted out my car insurance for the coming year - the final total with the new insurers being £50 less than the renewal quote from my present insurers
I've informed the present insurers that I'm not renewing and also had them remove the credit card from my account with them, so they can't take any money by mistake - all confirmed by them in writing. That's a big frog off my list.
I took my friend JF to one of our local NT properties, and after we'd been round the house (quite small but beautifully formed) we sat for about an hour on a bench in the kitchen garden just enjoying the warmth, the blue sky and the blossom. The formal gardens looked really smart and colourful, with clipped box hedges and bay pyramids, and with the outside borders full of highly scented hyacinths, daffs and tulips. JF treated me to coffee and a buttered cheese scone. It may not have been good for the waistline but it sure was good for the soul! Usually when DH and I go there, I end up taking Rosie for a walk through the parkland and I never get to see in the house or formal gardens where dogs are not allowed.
I have gone through the final shoebox full of packets of photos and immediately decluttered a large handful of landscapes and groups of people who I met only briefly, nor can I remember any of their names. My children and grandchildren won't have the slightest interest in them.
Tomorrow I have to be out of the house early for a physio appointment, so I'm off to bed now xxx

Morning. Hope you're all ok today. Wordle in four.
I have been up a while and I have walked Poppet and prepped some food for her. Work shift next then the village coffee morning. Will see what flying I can get done before second work shift.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all
I have been a bit AWOL so it's nice to be back. Lots going on, DH has decided to abandon the idea of finding a new job so has decided to go back to self-employed alongside his current part time job. I have doubts but we will see.
I have had a rough couple of weeks because my HRT patches are out of stock so I have been given a new brand which aren't working as well. I have a phone call with a nurse this morning.
Otherwise all is OK and I am on top of the flying. I have a couple of days off so going to a NT place with DH today then out with Mum tomorrow. The sun is shining which is good.8 -
Morning all - hope you're all well
2 part ramble-to-empty-my-head .....
Ramble pt 1
I'll be going home tomorrow after a busy week with mum running about with appointments, form-filling & phoning banks etc. informing them about the LPA. We're exhausted ! My own fault, LPAs were granted a year ago - I didn't realise we had to activate them online by 15th April 😱. Also, it hadn't occurred to me to inform banks and everyone else know straight away. They all said better than waiting until we really need it.
Luckily, I had re-read the letter a few days before I went to mum's and activated them before all the appts.
In amongst all that, I remembered OH & me haven't activated out own LPAs - they were out of time so have had to request 8 new codes!
I'll be glad to get home and do some flying
