Ramble pt2
Mum's short-term memory seems to have worsened slightly & her friend is going to the GP appt with her on Monday and will let me know how it goes. Aside from that, she doesn't appear to have got any worse. Still goes out & about, better social life than me 😀
I haven't needed to fly this week - mum's place is spotless bl00dy impressive for an 80+ year old with mild Alzheimers, puts me to shame. Instead I've been thinking about my un or almost finished frogs. My first one will be tackled this weekend
Part-complete 🐸 Project
Declutter, deep-clean & organise kitchen cupboards, drawers, cubby-holes & give floor a deep-deep and I mean deep-clean
Wine racks 0/2
Floor 0/1
Cupboards 7/14
Drawers 5/5
Cubby holes 3/3
I'll concentrate on that 👆 and general tidying ready for a fresh start on Monday.
Ramble over 🤗

I have mice in the compost bins - same mice, occupying both bins I think but there are 2 (for now) so I've left the lids off the bins overnight in the hope they'll move on...
'they look plump and healthy which is worrying
Phone call from the home early doors to ask me to approve additional 1-1 care - erm no, my sister has been in and met with one of the nurses and they agreed to try her without. So don't know whether someone was being cunning trying to play me off against sis or just hadn't read the sodding notes.
I'm waiting in for my new car aerial - I had hoped to fit in a lunchtime swim but unless they turn up in the next 20 minutes or so I'll have to forego that 'pleasure'.
Got washing on the line (towels) and lunch out of the shed freezer (sausage rolls) and have topped up Daisy Bunny's water and hay manger - this bag of hay is green and smells lush and fresh and all the bunnies are enjoying it.
ETA Car aerial delivered. And, thanks to a you tube video, fitted it myself really easily - had to remove courtesy light fitting, detach the old aerial base, clean the roof under the base and attach new one, replace courtesy light and screw new aerial on to new base - very proud of myself and £££ saved!
Was too late for lunchtime swim though, there's a window between 12 noon and 1 pm for lane swimming in between school swimming lessons.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Busy day, but I did actually force myself into fly mode this afternoon.
Hospital check up at the big city with DD decluttered this morning. DH drove her back to the uni city with her many bags of grocery shopping that were delivered here yesterday. My fridge and freezer have heaved a sigh of relief.Upstairs dusted and vacc’d, plus the dining room which is next to the ongoing utility room works so is collecting dust and bits. Just realised that I missed vacuuming the stairs. Whoops.I spent an hour or so in the greenhouse, shuffling plant babies and as yet empty pots about. That is about me done now. Easy stir fry kind of dinner this evening, so more chopping and slicing time than cooking.6 -
It's good to hear about people getting out into their gardens/allotments or even further afield, hopefully enjoying glorious weather. This afternoon we took Rosie to the NT woods near the property where I used to volunteer, and, driving there, it was noticeable just how much the hedges had greened and the blossom had opened up, even in the space of 24 hours. I do love the Spring - though this year it seems to have come upon us almost too suddenly.
I hope your squeaky visitors don't outstay their welcome, Valli. Can you borrow a cat?
In addition to our outing, today I have
- flown a little: mostly in the kitchen, but I've also filed some papers in the study;
- made a SC full of stew to feed the two of us, K, W and M on Saturday evening;
- refined my impression of a pincushion when the physio decided that more acupuncture was desirable;
- consolidated the 3 boxes of photo packets from the Trunk of Treasure into two, and as I was putting all the sets in date order I skimmed quickly through their contents and threw out some of the unwanted prints (did I *really* want to keep about 20 copies of some wall paintings in Germany? - they weren't even proper pictures, just quotations) - fer-ling!
- and made a start on various phonecalls that will hopefully result in a couple of nights away before Easter for the three of us.
See you in the morning xxx

borrow borrow a cat? *laughs hysterically*. the reason I knew there were mice/a mouse in the first place was because Poppy (my cat) brought one into show me… a very fat mouse reminiscent ofthe coachman (?) in Cinderella. had I known, then, it had a mate, it would have been dumped far from Villa Valli
but logical sensible actions are not my metier and i’ve got to prepare the aged ps for overnight visitors tomorrow. Invited by me.
I am an idiot.

Morning. Hope you're all ok. Wordle in three which is how many work shifts I'm doing today so I don't expect a lot of time to fly.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Dipping in as still trying to get to grips with looking after new bigger house and garden and it's not going well tbh but I guess it looks ok so I can't be doing too bad
At least our old house sold so I've added admin for paying off credit cards and choosing savings accounts to list
Probate should be through any day now so can look forward to stress that will cause me while kids are off school for Easter holidays7 -

Another week flies by with the usual mix of work, exercise, mild flying, putting stuff on calendar etc.
Today Mr N and friend set off to join another friend in Somerset to do the SouthWest Peninsula Rally (motorbike) which is tomorrow. I've been on previous years but haven't had much practice as pillion recently and I don't want to unbalance Mr N - while that isn't really likely as I've been 'on his back' for 45+ years, it is more tiring if you're driving two-up and I don't want any mishaps before we go away for our few days in tulip land on Wed.
- went for a run
- did a whole load of weeding
- checked/watered as necessary
- put our lounge in 'summer mode' which involves moving a sofa so we can open the french doors into the conservatory, put the winter silk flowers in the loft and replacing them with the summer ones.
- did a flower arrangement for my swim buddy's birthday which is tomorrow. Wrote her card.
- sent e cards to two other birthday family
- opened a new ISA, having found out yesterday that the reason I haven't been able to add to the existing one via my app is because I had to do that before December. Huh.
- wudupa
Tomorrow after my lake swim I have to continue being busy in the garden, do a small amount of shopping then focus on getting clothes etc ready for holiday.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7
