  • Just jumping in here as a newbie (be nice) and all of these threads have helped my anxiety as i am still in process of sorting out a euro car parks PCN/fine. At about step 8-9 and i WAS about to pay tomorrow, as the CCJ stuff was filling me with dread, but have decided to follow the guides and templates and make sure my future credit score is not tainted for the sake of a £3.00 slip up over a year ago!
Will be following all of these as they progress,

Very good news that MSE stopped you paying. ECP single PCN court claims are discontinued before hearings so carry on with confidence. It's free and no CCJ is risked.

You will need your own thread and we need to see the NoD to count your success in the end!

Did you send the DQ as a JPEG? That's a complete no. Re-send as a PDF and also post a copy to the CNBC 2nd class (at the PO desk and get a certificate of posting and keep it).

Also email a complaint to HMCTS about this process. They will lean on the CNBC by next week.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Morning, thankyou Gr1pr & Coupon mad,

For feedback, I did send as a jpeg in early June. So that must be the issue. (Any other organisation may well email back and tell you to change the file for the sake of simple efficacy, but ho hum, my expectations are not high).

Please do continue to get frustrated with me, and keep pushing out your direction. I do miss things due to dyslexia (its a nightmare)  but really value your advice and would be lost without it.

I am going to photograph the form
    Pdf the photo
Email it again as a pdf'ed photo
    -Is that correct?

I am also going to: photocopy the form, and send the original i filled in by snail mail as described.
    -is that correct?

I will also help you with the consultation link you requested.

Yes do all of that except re-sign the photocopy that you send snail mail AND SIGN A COVERING LETTER WITH IT (with the Claim Number on both) so they don't reject it as being a photocopy!

As well as snail mail, I would not scan or take pictures of the paper copy

My recommendation has always been thus ( and wont change unless MCOL change the system   )

Download the N180 DQ pdf document from the government website,  fill it in using a laptop or PC or tablet, save as a pdf, then email it to the DQ email address listed in the 8 steps in the defence template thread,  attaching the newly saved pdf , so it's in the correct format and below their 10mb limit

    Easy peasy

But do back it up with the paper N180 by snail mail,  just to be sure, belt and braces approach  ( but do take pictures or scans of it,  ensuring that they are signed etc  ) , or as coupon mad mentioned above

I am more convinced by the day that they don't allow jpegs, plus anything over 10mb by email

    Hi all,

A mediation call has been booked. I have read the generic threads on it so am fairly comfortable with what to expect and must stay on 5 mins.

I now seek advice for my situation specifics -

My position/defence - I've not been provided any evidence i/the vehicle was ever there. I can't recall being there.

    - £700+ is unreasonable amount, no broken down, unjustified.

    - If I was there, I wouldnt have been parked. I would have been waiting on the road, outside of a bay or accross bays at night when empty, engine running, taking a phonecall and eating a sandwhich on the way back from hospital when caring for critical relative, for c. 20min.

    - The signage doesn't specify this activity is contract forming, wouldn't have seen it anyway particularly at night in small print (photographed), isnt visible, Im also Dyslexic.

Bearing in mind I want the hassle/time impact of this B/S to go away for minimal cost (if any), and to mitigate any risk of it not going my way and I end up paying more/full amount after court hearing - what should my approach to mediation be?

You only have to listen to the ridiculous offers from the clamant via the mediator; you do not have to get into a discussion with the mediator; they are only there to pass offers of money between you and the claimant; if they don't accept your offer of £0, £5 or £10, politely end the call.

Why on earth do you think you will pay more/full amount if you lost at a hearing?! That's not what happens. The PCNs were £100 each, not £170 each, so even if you lose you'd pay about £400. But you won't lose.

The Claimant is Parking Eye. The solicitor is DBL Legal.
Yep, so they'll discontinue. You'll pay nothing.
