the cricketer Bob Willis officially adopted a middle name of Dylan after Bob Dylan who was his idol. He was in one of the Ashes winning team but not in 2005!

also, can anyone help. I can't seem to find a list of players in the 2005 team.

I was looking at B Ds alternative names and the names of the actors in the film and the artists of the film's soundtrack - no joy with the team. oh well - good idea didn't work.

Could it be that Bob Willis (middle name Dylan) played for England the last time we won the ashes?

Willis's England career began in 1970-71 when he was flown out to Australia as a replacement for the injured Alan Ward on Ray Illingworth's ashes winning tour

He wrote a book:
Cricket: Six of the Best
by Bob Willis - but i cna't find the publication date on the waterstones website

1996 according to Amazon.
Bob Willis commentates for Sky Sport on cricket - not sure if he was one of the commentators for the 2005 Ashes, or indeed if they were on Sky rather than terrestrial.
Will have to check...

I'm pretty sure that the answers to 1 can't be right, as they are non-fiction works, and the question states "novelists", which is why I thought of Ghost Writer.

toniq - you might be right - this question is the worst one! There seem to be so many red herrings! My poor cold infested head is giving up for today, hopefully I will feel brighter tomorrow and will have another go!
