Two wash loads done and dried outside but not put away yet. DH has been having a sort out and now access to his wardrobe is blocked. For how long? .........
Dailies and dog walk done. We met new dog sitters who were lovely with Poppet, and had takeaway at DSs as we had to cancel lunch out as DGD1 decided to be sick!Spend less now, work less later.6 -
WMx1 which Belovéd dangled while he was woodstaining a sidetable which is a prop bar room stool for his play. I heart Belovéd.I've removed some fleece from one third of the area where the old pear tree was and is still naked mud, and jerry-rigged some sort of chicken wire stuff with tent pegs, having reseeded the area first. Wretched pigeons gobble up all the grass seed I put down so now that it's sort of drizzling we've got the washing in but it's watering the grass seed so it's not all bad.Must go an knit a pizza together.Better is good enough.5

A lovely day hence a lovely lake swim; no wet suit needed now as it was 10 degrees. As swim buddy's birthday and mine are close together next month and it's when I'm away, we went for a pre-birthday breakfast with our menfolk; a lovely cash-only big plate old-fashioned type of cafe run by enthusiastic and polite young people. Yummy.
- On the way back I got flowers to do an arrangement for DB and SIL as it is their silver wedding on SIL's birthday next month (she is visiting us tomorrow hence I need to organise her present and card, anniversary present and card plus Easter goodies all for her to collect).
- Went to CS and got the perfect container for the flower arrangement; a glass bowl in a silver-coloured stand with a handle.
- spent some time in greenhouse
- picked foliage for arrangement and sprayed some of it silver
- filled bird feeders. Our spring/summer visitors have arrived; a mallard pair have come to our pond for the last 4yrs.
- one load through DW
- did the arrangement
- used up the last of a bottle of egg whites to make 6 fruit friandes and a meringue.
- looked up the train times to get us to Eurosta* in 10 days time. Eek; our check-in times are a bit earlier than expected, so tomorrow I'll have to break the news to my church friend who's giving us a lift to the station.
- rang DB to remind him that I put Mum's card for tomorrow in her bedside table and to remind him to take a tablet as step-sis in Canada told me she'd sent a message to Mum via Me$$enger.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.5 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, altered all the clocks, turned over the calendars, taken my meds, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in three, only managed one line on Connections, and supped a brew.

It's sunny but blowing a hoolie here. And yesterday that wind was bitter, so I'm assuming that it is today too. Not been outside to test my hypothesis yet though.
Have a good day. Be kind to yourself. Especially if today is a tough day to get through.

and the china dinner service with the silver band which cannot go in either the dishwasher or the microwave is boxed up ready to go. FERLINGG because why would I handwash crockery when I have a DW? It was given to me when stepdad's mum died... I've no emotional attachment to it.
That's a WHOLE SHELF freed in the large corner cupboard I keep my crockery in!
Washing on the line. Just lol - it's SO windy

First WM load pegged out, just about to do a towels wash. Will also make a working week's worth of sandwiches for Belovéd and freeze most of them so I don't have to do it every evening. I used to do that for myself when I was seriously poor and overdrawn when I started working for the NHS.Then it's back to sorting out wretched emails. One thing this exercise has taught me is that all those hundreds of emails I've carefully filed away for about 20 years don't actually need to be kept at all. I might want them in a 'That might be useful' kind of way but it's just digital clutter really.Better is good enough.5

Hello all.
Today, I have done dailies, walked Poppet, hoovered and swept through and done all the edges of the grass in the back garden. All before 11. Wordle in five, then went to DDs for a Mother's Day afternoon tea which was lovely. Got to cuddle and feed DGS too. DGD2 was worn out and went off for a nap.
Home now. Time to relax before they all come over to us tomorrow.
See you all on the next thread.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Having taken my jumper front back because the aran had defeated me (and I was only 5 rows or so in) I have restarted it and this time I have 'got it' so all good.
We'll ignore the fact that I should have been doing admin...
DS and DiL came around with gifts and washing to peg out - they're in a flat and have no outside drying space - and that's dried, along with my washing.
ETA - car taxed.
ETA 2 items listed on fleabay...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Batter late than never, today's round from the Trunk of Treasure has produced
- four large (A4) prints of - separately - my German godson, my nephew and his two sons who live in France, the first parish exchange group from Germany to my old diocese in 1999, and myself and DS2 canoeing through rapids on the Ardeche in 1986/7
- a pocket album with photos from 1997 of (a) my DD's graduation and (b) the house that DS1 bought and renovated during the summer holidays that year with help from the rest of us - that was where he taught me to solder joints on central heating pipes (when we tested the system, one of his joints leaked but mine were all perfect)
- another pocket album of photos of my children at my house at about the same date.
- 2 pictures from my German godson's sister's confirmation party in 2008
- a commercial photo of me and DD on the London Eye when she was expecting DGS1 in 2008
More treasure waiting to be found tomorrow, but it's mostly packets of photos and boxes of slides from now on.
It's been a quiet Sunday here. DH was out most of the day. I went to church, did some shopping, had some lunch, and dozed for about an hour to make up for lost sleep last night, before taking Rosie for a walk. DD and DS2 both phoned me this evening, and DS1 is coming to see me tomorrow afternoon.
See you all on the new thread. Hope it turns out to be a good week - should be sunny
