Morning all
Apologies but I need to ramble a bit to get my thoughts in order - I've started to be a bit chaotic in my thinking.
Couldn't settle last night so was up until the early hours - ended up deluttering & cleaning the pots & pans drawers under the oven - very hard to do quietly when everyone else is asleep! It was part of my original 🐸 list back in October 😲. Eyuck, it was horrible, am ashamed I let it get in that state. Just glad last week's visitors only saw the clean bits of the house & didn't look in there!
I need to have a look at various almost-finished frogs/ tadpoles and get them sorted before starting another project.
Phew - thanks for listening, it helps to declutter my head. Am available for reciprocal listening if anyone needs a rant/ramble 🤗

Ensuite cleaned, bedroom dusted and upstairs vacuumed. That earned me a couple of hours at the allotment, where the nice weather has brought out a few of the old faces. Cleared a patch of couch grass and various other running type weeds, then came home. Tomorrow’s Mr M shop has been updated, particularly for milk. Even though we have the milkman. DH decided that today of all days he would have a huge bowl of cereal, when there are builders having tea and coffee all day, and I had already been out to buy him bread for the toast that he has every single day. Honestly 👿, for someone intelligent he has zero common sense of forward planning skills, especially given that it is a 6 mile round trip to the nearest corner shop to get milk. Rant over, you would think that I would be used to it by now.6

Afternoon all. Where did the morning go?
Yesterday K came to help me change both the beds, and she also went through the main rooms with the duster and hoover, and even cleaned the bathroom and ensuite - all in not much more than an hour. It helped that I had already PUPA before she came, so between the efforts of both of us I'm now well ahead on this week's flyingI did 4 loads of washing yesterday (all dried, aired and put away this morning) and have done more this morning. K is going to be working pretty much full time from next week, as she does exam invigilation on top of her usual school cleaning and lunchtime supervision, but she has offered to come one day in the Easter holidays to deep clean, moving out the beds and sofas. She's such a great help to me, and now that the weather is better we can start going out some weekends and taking K and her two girls with us.
Yesterday evening I suddenly decided to unwrap my grandfather's wooden school trunk (circa 1877, when he started at St Paul's Cathedral Choir School) which had been in the eaves loft from ever since we moved here 12 years ago until I pulled everything out of there last summer. The cardboard packing case went straight into recycling and the worn out sticky tape was thrown into the black bin that was emptied this morning! I had thought that the trunk was full of 35mm slides, but there are only a few. However, I've found a load more packs of photos of my children in their teenage years, so the best of those can be added to my new archive albums. I'm glad I had taken a break from sorting all the photos, otherwise it would have been very frustrating trying to make room in date order for the extra pictures! Lots of good memories there
Back to my list for today (some things crossed off from this morning, so I wasn't completely lazy)
- take BP readings to the GP surgery
- call at MrAl for milk and fruit, and the PO for cards
- WMx2
- lunch (save a treat for Rosie who has gone out for a sunny walk with L)
- message 3 friends
- phone the museum
- write cards
- add more family BMD certificates to my database
- hm curry for tea
- phone a housebound friend (allow at least 45 minutes for this)
Best get moving then! Enjoy the sunshine, if you have some today - if not, hope for more tomorrow xxx6 -

Morning all. How's the new job, round?
I'm up a bit earlier today as my phone pinged, so I'm hoping to make good headway this morning, even if I crash after Rosie's walk this afternoon. Of course I didn't manage to complete all my list yesterday (in my defence, the BMD certs job is likely to take several more days) so a lot is carried over. I won't bore you by listing it all. But both families that I hope to visit soon have said "Not this week, thank you," so I have less travelling to do and more time for sorting.
Last night I decided to Do A Round and start emptying my grandfather's trunk one package at a time. This morning I took out a bag which turned out to contain copies of my DCs' official wedding photos plus some more informal ones - enough to fill an album by themselves! My favourite pic has to be the one of my DD standing next to their 3-tier wedding cake. As she said when she gave it to me, it shows the three things I made for the wedding: her dress, the cake, and of course her! There was also an envelope full of pictures of DGS1 (6lb 11oz) on the day he was born. He is now coming up 17 and was very nearly 6ft tall the last time I measured him and his brother - DD feeds her husband and sons well. And she still looks as slim and youthful as she did on her wedding day! Nothing to throw away from this bag, but it's been rehomed in the right place for now.
Right, I must get going. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. Will catch up with you all later. (((Hugs))) to all in need xxx

morning, thanks so much for this thread, I have done more housework in the last 2 days than the last 2 months, and the house is looking a wee bit better for it. This morning I have
- done my shred exercise class
- loaded DW
- wiped down kitchen surfaces
- cleaned kitchen windows
- cleaned DW door and surrounding areas of splatter marks
- hoovered the stairs
- cleaned the shower (big mucky job)
Now I am off to work on a scarf I am making as part of a project run by a lady called Alessandra - she is studying the effect (positive hopefully!) that fibre arts (specifically crochet) have on perimenopausal and menopausal women. There are about 20 of us doing a mood scarf with different colours for different levels of how good was your sleep, your brain fog and your anxiety. Interesting to be involved in but has taken a fair bit of time which stops me from making things for my own stall to sell - I have another craft fair at the end of April but I'm away visiting my Mum for 2 weeks before then so I should really be working on stock for my stall. Hoping to get this scarf done today though which leaves me a week to make more stock.7 -
I have spent over 2 hours riffling through files and boxes of paperwork (stored in the envelopes it was delivered in - why?) in an attempt to find out where Mum's money is because we are hemorraging money in care home costs, paying for care + 1-1 supervision at an extra £25 per hour (day and night!) I've identified some accounts. At least, with the, PoA in place we can get the money.
Please, please people - get your PoA in place AND get one of these or, at the very least have an up-to-date list of your assetts. And save bank statements - we need 4 years worth to show there has been no deprivation of assetts as we apply for funding. It looks like we are going to have to pay for them, I can find them for the last year or so only.
