Please, please people - get your PoA in place AND get one of these or, at the very least have an up-to-date list of your assetts. And save bank statements - we need 4 years worth to show there has been no deprivation of assetts as we apply for funding. It looks like we are going to have to pay for them, I can find them for the last year or so only.
House fairly clean and tidy apart from my study.
Garden stuff growing fast especially the weeds.
Kept up with exercise but only lost about 3lb although with all the social/away from home activities in the last few weeks I'm pleased with that.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all
weekend at lat. new baby was gorgeous. Mum was mum. I’m just glad she doesn’t know what she has become. I left her mother’s day card with the staff as we aim to spread out visits. I won’t go on Sunday. She won’t know anyway.

Morning. Up early as we have to leave house by 9.30 today to visit a new dog carer and I need to walk Poppet first. After that DS is taking me out to lunch so I don't expect to fly today. Anyway I've just started on knitting a romper for DGS so that's getting quite a bit of my time.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all xx
Is it really weekend? Did I make it through the paid stuff? Please say 'yes'.
That's my first week in my new office endured. I mean survived. I mean...over. I start my new job on Tuesday 1st April iona but I had to move office a week early. Not sure why as nothing has happened in the empty office but thereyago 🤷♀️. Anyhoo. I'm the only Band 2 in with four Band 3s and a Band 4.... so guess who's rota-ed to answer the door on the days she's in there! Moi. The door being a steady hike down the corridor away. I've already asked if I can sit at the Reception desk instead. My supervisor made a face and said 'you don't want to sit there'. I do. I don't want to sit here!!!! Opposite you!!!! But I will get a payrise on Tuesday- or else I'd be below minimum wage. Again.
I did find perverse enjoyment listening to the Band 3s and 4 go round and round in circles with something I knew the answer to. That happened a few times. 🤷♀️. Hey they're paid 21p an hour more than me so that makes them 'special' who am I to interrupt their conversation. To be fair: individually they are nice women, but they get power conscious when they're together. I did have a couple of minor wobbles BUT I stuck it out....it pays the rent for a start.
Anyhoo. I digress. Sorry. I just needed to unpack the 'experience'. Very curate's egg. I have a great view out of the window 🤣.
Time to reset, relax, recuperate, refocus and recover. All those sort of words
I'm up, made my bed, completed Strands with two hints, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with two lives lost, turned over the calendars, taken my meds and supped my first brew.

Morning all
It’s a beautiful sunny day here - but the plaster still isn’t dry. Grrr, but hopefully today. It’s getting there. So in the meantime, I have stripped the bed and put the bedding into the wm, remade the bed, opened even more windows. Washing the bedding at the weekend is going to confuse me but was an easier option than when there were builders around. DH has gone to big town to get some water softener salt. We inherited the softener with the house. I really must learn how to fill it etc. I am fully expecting him to get distracted and come back with Stuff from Mr L which is next door. I really want to go to the allotment but it looks like that will have to wait. I have just been down a very dangerous rabbit warren on a plant website….15% off…must resist….5 -

I've also sploshed bleach down the loo, defuzzed myself, opened windows upstairs, put cans of pop in the fridge and recycled the box.

So far:
- breakfasted, showered, dressed, etc
- found a suitable dressing for the lesion on DH's leg which I don't want to become a problem
- WMx1 of 2 is on
- I've made a coffee sponge for tomorrow - or later today if DS1 turns up - which will use up most if not all of the excess coffee butter cream that I froze the last time (January?) when I made a similar, though larger, cake. This one has been baked in a loaf tin as I had run out of plant-based soft marg and only had the cheapo version left, which isn't vegan, so DDiL1 wouldn't eat any. Mind you, eggs aren't vegan either, but she temporarily goes vegetarian for my cakes!
- the postman brought me a box of beautiful cut freesias from DD, which I have "artfully" arranged and put in the LR
- I've done a bit of research into freestanding wardrobes and new curtains, trying to decide whether it's worth changing the configuration of the upstairs bedrooms to give equal sized rooms (better for when I come to sell? - no fixed plans to do so atm)
- I've gone up and down the stairs so many times I have lost count; ought to have been carrying my phone (fitness tracker) as all the steps would have counted
- and I've done my round.
Today the Trunk of Treasure has produced
- pictures of my old house - my home from 1996 to 2009 - showing the cottage garden and the frog pond that I dug myself
- photos of my children and mother in the garden (which will help to date some other photos taken at the same time, that I found elsewhere)
- a lovely b/w portrait of DS1 when he was in the Upper Sixth and had a full head of hair
- 3 school photos of DGodD1 (various years, but only one dated - must ask her mum) and another copy of one of DS2 which is dated - hurrah!
- a photo of a young woman from India who is another of my "adopted" daughters, after she returned to India
- pictures taken during my 4-month stay in Germany in 1969 - including one of my landlady Frau R and her cousin Frau F quaffing glasses of beer (of course!)
- a beautiful picture of DS3 hugging his teddies; I have another copy, but it's bittersweet to have found this one, this particular weekend
- and finally, one photo of a group of 3 children, obviously in a school play, but none of whom I can identify!!! Definitely none of mine
