Or I wait until I’m offered a free trial, Although I tend to save these for towards Christmas when I know I’m going to be buying more.Yes, for home delivery the minimum spend to get free delivery is presently £35, which I personally find very steep. However, if you have items delivered to an Amazon Locker, you can order any value you want and it's free delivery. It may say delivery in 5 days but items usually arrive next dayI have taken advantage of Prime Free Trials but always cancel them immediately in my Amazon account once activated so I don't get charged when the trial is finished and I still have to 30 days free delivery and all the extras to try, if I want to. However, with Amazon Locker delivery being free, I may only activate 1 free Amazon 1 month trial a year.
My account doesn't always have a free pickup option (unless it's over the free standard delivery limit) If I buy stuff under the free delivery limit I usually add items I would have bought elsewhere to top it up (e.g. coffee pods or toiletries) or see if there is a free / 99p promo Prime delivery option.
Prime video went downhill when they added more adverts plus much of their decent content ends up on their Freevee app with similar adverts anyway.1 -

It's just the one off unexpected emergency stuff that I need in a day, really. Which is probably twice a year.I too, have experienced at peak times, like Mothers day, Easter, Christmas for example, the Amazon Lockers show as full, trying to force me to purchase more to get free standard delivery and that point I either dump my basket and go onto G**gle Shopping or wait a couple of hours and try again which funnily enough the Amazon Lockers are available once again. As for the other perks like music, videos etc, I've never really had the interest in those to warrant an Amazon monthly subscription, which is just as well as with Amazons held to ransom minimum spend policy, I too spend even less now;)~ NSD 2025 - NSD April 25/20 💰💰💰💰# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £507.79 / £2025 (25.1%) (3) 💯💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £324.79 / £667.95 (45%)# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £618.35 / £730 (82%)# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £8423.18 / £12,000 (57.5%)# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1107.73 / £1,378 (75.6%)~ Reduce Essential HH Expenses 2025: £3560.53 / £3000 Be Savvy, Haggle🤣, & Get What You're Entitled To! 💰💯~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺~ Decluttering Awards 2025: 🏅🏅☕️⭐️💐🏅⭐️⭐️☕️0 -
Depends how much you buy from Amazon. We buy a lot - at least one delivery a week, usually more. Well worth the money for us, particularly as we can share it with the family.2

My prime membership was cancelled and I’m boycotting for the simple reason I don’t want to give Jeff Bezos any more of my money. I’ve decided to shop in person when I can and use smaller dealers when I can’t. If that means spending more then I’ll just have to save up.3

It annoys me that I have had to use Amazon, buying stuff for a relative who is not online. I have at least stopped buying anything for myself.

My sister has Prime, I don't. She often gets shown a higher price for the same item than I do. Took us a while to realise Amazon was showing her the cheapest items available for Prime delivery - whereas I was seeing items from sellers who didn't use Amazons distribution service (but still offered free postage and had lower prices for the item) .
That said, I don't use Amazon more than once or twice a year now. I enjoy wandering around my local high street, and want the shops to continue to exist. That won't happen if we buy everything online.1 -
I don't have it and I can get free delivery without spending the minimum required - using their locker, my preferred option as I'm not at home, also I have had them delivered sooner than estimated, even next day!0

I see there are suggestions of differential pricing between Prime and non-Prime. In a sense, that’s true, because there are often special deals available only to Prime members. There are however no circumstances in which better prices are available only to non-Prime customers. All the prices, from all sellers, are available with one click of a mouse. We have both types of account in this household - there simply are no pricing differences between them, except for the lower special Prime deals.0
