Hi I am thinking is amazon prime worth having now at the cost of £95.00 a year as I now only use the delivery service also did use some of the video to watch side and the music but still not that much.
As I can not see using the full benefits either. How have other found the cost now as it lot if just using not that often???
Have other people not used amazon prime and found the service OK??

I find it good value. My son uses prime video and I order a lot, a couple of times a month most months. The music is rubbish now so don't use that. I have also used the gaming for my son which gave him a boost in the game so that's usefulhosay299 said:Hi I am thinking is amazon prime worth having now at the cost of £95.00 a year as I now only use the delivery service also did use some of the video to watch side and the music but still not that much.

I've been pondering cancelling it too but I think it is worth it for me. It's not just the postage, there are often different prices and different offers, on things I would have bought anyway, with and without Prime. Worth keeping an eye on savings for a few months to see whether its worth it for you.
I might go without Prime for a couple of months to move the renewal away from my expensive month with insurance and MOT though.3

I don't have it and always choose the free delivery option. The amount you have to spend to get a free delivery keeps going up though. It’s £35 at the moment. I don’t buy a lot from Amazon when I do it tends to be a bit and bobs so I have to wait till I’ve got enough to make the order.
Or I wait until I’m offered a free trial, Although I tend to save these for towards Christmas when I know I’m going to be buying more. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3

Despite only being a semi frequent customer usually only buying 1 or 2 things at a time, I get offered free/cheap trials all the time. It's got to the point I pretty much expect it 99% of the time when buying something. And this is despite always cancelling the trials before paying monthly, sometimes I'll even buy something and cancel it immediately after the purchase is complete before the item even arrives! (You still benefit from the quicker delivery when doing this.)
If I were you, I'd consider cancelling and see how it goes, maybe you'll also get offered some free/cheap trials.1

There isn't always a free delivery option though.kimwp said:I don't have it and always choose the free delivery option.
I tend to add things to my basket, then move them to "save for later" until there's enough there to meet the free delivery criteria.
I don't really understand the OP. The only question is "is it worth it for me?"
What a bunch of strangers think is of no relevance.1

Amazon delivery has just kept increasing and got sneakier so I buy very little from there now.I find 'free delivery' on other sites where I can or wait till I have a list of what I need that I can't buy locally.Never been one to pay for films and music. With dvd/cd at 50p in the charity shops, free books from the library and lots of other stuff to do that costs nowt.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time! viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well 1

Timing of this post is interesting.
I've just cancelled mine for the following reasons:
 1) Stop me buying most things* from Amazon as the free delivery is very convenient and often sways my purchasing choices I've been meaning to support other companies more than I currently do. It's a self control thing. Yes prices are often lower, but it's another sale a local or UK company isn't getting only increasing the difficulty.
 2) prime video is pretty good, but the constant cycling of free films available to rental is annoying and just greedy IMO
 3) with the digital services tax being used as a political football, I'd rather support UK tax paying businesses more
 4) Amazon prime music is terrible, both selection and quality. I use another service and so the £95 can help contribute to this better provider.
The money saved in prime either means I wait a few extra days, or spend the postage equivalent elsewhere.
*Fwiw, co-mingling of Amazon products in the same inventory as third party sellers is one of the main reasons why I buy items known to also be easily counterfeited elsewhere.

So sneaky! It's like where's Wally to select free shipping.twopenny said:Amazon delivery has just kept increasing and got sneakier so I buy very little from there now.I find 'free delivery' on other sites where I can or wait till I have a list of what I need that I can't buy locally.Never been one to pay for films and music. I don't subscribe to Prime for a number of reasons:
1 - I think Prime Video is not that good compared to Netflix.
2 - whenever I buy stuff from Amazon and opt for free delivery, the stuff usually arrives very promptly anyway (albeit not next day).
3 - I often find things are better value when using other websites. For example, it is often cheaper to buy things off of ebay or by searching for them on Google Shopping.
The third point is the main reason why Prime exists. For those people that subscribe to Prime, they are less inclined to shop around for better deals on other websites and just go straight to Amazon for convenience. This is why Amazon are desperate for people to sign up to it. In the spirit of this website (Money Saving Expert), I would say it is more money saving to cancel Prime and shop around on Google when buying stuff online.
The only exception to this is December where I take advantage of Amazon Prime's one month free trial. This is because I know Premier League football will be on Prime video and because I'm going to be buying stuff in the run-up to Christmas.
