Dia, congrats on a super productive day. I find if things are housed in places which make sense, it makes it easier to follow the guide "don't put it down, put it away"3

What a productive day, sounds like your home got a lot of love.
Great idea to put the local guides in the guest room.
Would it be more space saving/money saving to get shelves instead of a book case? Either way keep an eye out on olio etc!3 -

Thanks @jwil and @Tresinia511
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds I have always had shelves and they are my preference but this house has dry-lined walls that can support some weight but I don't trust them for shelves of heavy books. This isn't my forever home either and I can take my bookcases with me. I am particular so the right book shelves will take a while to find, especially on my budget! But I'm sure I will find them in the end...
It was yoga this morning. It was lovely. Another woman is having a treatment I would like, but it is £120 a session, so out of the question. The thing is having less money makes me think much more creatively... @Sun_Addict for example has lots of exercise in her life, and the cost is negligible. That is the model I need to adopt. So, I am going to find a few online yoga sessions and incorporate a few short yoga sessions somehow. I quite fancy a morning yoga session, just 10 minutes when I am back from my morning walk...
I saw a really cool lamp in a cs window today. It is only £5. The shade is not to my taste, but will go and buy the lamp tomorrow morning and keep looking for, or buy a new shade...
A friend is coming to pick me up in half an hour. She is dropping something off at a Minted collection point that is on my actual road! A message from the universe for sure! We are having a catchup and watching some TV. I still do not have TV here...time to get it sorted...
I have overeaten Brazil nuts. They are so calorific! No wonder I am getting fatter. The early morning walks begin tomorrow
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Dia, never mind the calories, the great and the good health people recommend just 1 -2 Brazil nuts a day to avoid over dosing on selenium🫣i find this hilarious as for the whole of my childhood my mother bought Brazil nuts (in their shells) and the difference between them and now is nothing short of crazy. Those nuts were so delicious i used to eat them by the dozen using the same nutcracker for about 10 years. I'm still here. Still eating them although they taste nothing as good. You can't buy them in shells these days due to an EU directive which I feel sure has (not) saved me from being poisoned 😁5

Haha thanks @Tresinia511 I will definitely be cutting my Brazil nut consumption
So, the lamp for £5 is mine now. It is heavy and has a swivel arm. When I picked it up it was better than I thought. The shade is horrible so I took that off and gave it back to the cs. My search for a lovely shade begins...
I have a headache today. Possibly due to dehydration as it is sooo hot. I have an appointment this afternoon that I have asked to be rearranged.
The house is messy as I was out yesterday for most of the day. I need to get it straight again...I noticed a small carpet stain in the guest room. I bought a Dr B's cleaner so will have a go at it today. I will also clean the room and remake the bed ready for a friend who is coming at the weekend. She will stay the night.
My increasing weight is a concern to me. I've been starting eating too early and eating late into the evening. I'm concentrating on starting my eating day with soup at noon. I'm stopping eating at seven. The price of decent and indecent chocolate should be putting me off...clearly, it isn't...I have been drawn to making jam. But, jam is not my friend, so thinking of making pickles and would quite like to try sauerkraut and even ginger beer as I enjoy fermented foods.
I'm going to check my blood pressure today and will start monitoring it weekly
MSE wise I have the same goal I've had for weeks. Yup, Minted. It doesn't look like I am making progress, but I looked at my friend's Minted pages yesterday. I also worked out my PO and one of the other delivery points (both within 5 minutes away) should cover all options...I am getting there...
I hope your week began positively

Hi, The Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) have a virtual village hall on facebook with lots of exercise sessions that you can dip into. I don't think we are allowed to link on here but easy enough to look up. Years ago when I had a flat I fell out with the local library - she didn't believe I could read all the books I wanted to take out (faster reader) and so bought boxes of books at an auction (some very random) and had to stack them around the room, I thought it looked a bit artistic, they were read and moved out to charity shop.5

Thanks @Newstartforme...still not done it...
Thanks @MayDogsandCoffee I found some excellent exercise videos on the virtual village hall. Thank you!
So, yesterday was busy. The decluttering continues and a bag of stuff left the house.
The Swedish store delivered so now my fridge has see-through containers and is clean and organised. Cupboards have been cleared and reorganised and decluttered. All grains and dry goods are in glass storage jars. I don't want Mickey M paying a visit with his mates... The kitchen looks soo much clearer and calmer
I
have a shelf on the counter that I will ask the odd job man to put up on the wall so I can reclaim the valuable counter space (as kitchen is very small) and perfectly fine, but every inch needs to work hard...
My tiny lobby has been reorganised with a small shoe rack and additional coir matting
An evening meeting meant eating too late again! Plus there was gluten somewhere, despite me being told there wasn't, as I woke with swollen joints and could barely climb the stairs. Today I have eaten well. Salad, fruits, good quality protein and nothing, UP well except some chocolate!! I was 19/5 today as regards my eating window
I bought a YS chicken, some fruits and other food bits.
I bought 2 waterproof sheets that I will put beneath the mattress protectors already there.
The friend visiting at the weekend suggested staying an extra day. It caught me unawares but I was able to retrieve the situation and she is just staying 1 night now. I felt a bit mean but I only have this weekend and next before the new houseguests come to stay for a few weeks...
Ive seen a small Victorian wardrobe that I will revisit and try to get the price down a bit. It would fit under my stairs and be used to store coats, blankets and other worn clothes. I can keep my cookery books on top of it....we shall see...I'm not going to go over budget...
My intention is to be up early to clean my front windows and door and tidy my plant pots.
A good productive day for me. I hope your day went well too

Sounds like a productive day indeed. I can highly recommend the FitOn app for short exercise sessions including yoga. It’s free, there’s a paid version for around £25 a year but having tried it once I found the free version more than adequate for me.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
