We have just re-insured our caravan with a company in Airvault.  All done on line and despite a few issues sorting out the two factor authentication its been plain sailing.  160 euros for the year.  Our van is stored in Airvault.

    agence assurance mutuelle poitiers

I've looked at that and cannot see how to complete it online.  It just gives you numbers to contact the different agencies.

Can you please explain in more detail or add a link.

    Thanks in advance.
  • I am also foxed. I rang tower gate to renew, only to be told they can’t offer insurance any more. If anyone has any success please let me know. It is just ridiculous to nor be able to insure an asset held overseas. I am not bothered about towing insurance if that is an issue, just keeping my caravan on site and using it on site.

We insured with this company in Airvault for 16 years but they would not renew in 2025. Also tried Groupama in Airvault who refused.

They offer third party liability for English caravans stored in France as well as an all risks policy.

Hi (Removed by Forum Team), it’s (Removed by Forum Team). We met you last year while staying at (Removed by Forum Team). (Removed by Forum Team) has just sent (Removed by Forum Team) a short text, and I’ve only just seen your post here. Have you managed to arrange insurance yet, or are you still in the process?

We haven’t had any success so far and would really like to know how you get on.

We managed to arrange third-party caravan insurance using the link (Removed by Forum Team) shared above (info@frassistance.nl).

Dries de Bont, an Allianz broker, speaks excellent English and replied to our emails straight away.

He did also quote for fully comprehensive cover, but the premium was almost half the value of our old caravan, so we decided against it.

Thanks once again to (Removed by Forum Team) and (Removed by Forum Team).

Hi all, I have arranged insurance for our caravan that is stored in France with Allianz Fr.via info@Frassistance.nl

  • Thanks for this Julestr6.

I used your link and success!! Our caravan is now insured. Emailed last night, they answered straight away and contract drawn up with Allianz. Interesting, as our cars are insured through Allianz in UK. So why not our caravan? 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Greetings everyone! I have tried a number of Allianz broker and they state that they can't help as we are not French residents. However I am communicating with a broker in NE France who seems to be more helpful. He has asked me for more details of the Allianz policy, ie the actual name. Can one of you provide thus PLEASE! Many thanks everyone.

I had the same issue with Towergate. We renewed on Oct 1st 2025 but the insurance was withdrawn last week. They are now underwritten by Aviva who won't insure stored caravans to remain in France for more than 6 months. We were informed that Aviva were going to underwrite the policy when we renewed but given no indication of the 6 month rule! I feel we were mis-sold and have complained. We have been left high and dry and currently not insured. I have contacted others on our site and have an offer from Allianz in Royan but the paperwork looks to be for statics and ours is a tourer. Have to follow this up before I pay the E220
