Caravan Insurance for a van stored in France

Tower gate are a broker, not an underwriter. On another forum it was reported , French insurance laws have stopped insurance of caravans by UK companies.
French companies will not insure caravans that are not registered in France, as is required by law. Caravans have registration plate. But, to register a caravan you need to have a French address.I1 -
We need a company that will insure caravans in the south similar to the company that is insuring ones above department 17.We also need some prominent person who will stand up and speak out so this ridiculous scenario is solved! But then I suppose most of these people won’t be caravanning and have their own properties in France!0

Let’s hope The Connexion newspaper will respond and see hie ridiculous this situation is. There must be hundreds who store caravans in France and support the French economy throughout the summer months.0

The Connexion newspaper contacted me to say they will consider my question for publication, but that might not be for a month or so and then we will need to wait for replies.Another suggestion is to contact the local Maire and explain the predicament to them, how much money we spend in the region - I wonder if they feel their towns could withstand that loss every year.I know if I have to take my caravan home, I will not return to the Landes region again. It is just too far from the ports and sailing into Spain is an expensive option.0

Let’s hope the newspaper takes up this issue as there are many people in will affect.0

I have recently purchased a caravan stored on a campsite in France. Will need to register in the UK because it's impossible to register it in France. As everyone on here is finding, no one will insure but it's a condition of the campsite. Has anyone found a UK insurer that will do this, even if I have to take it back to the UK please? I've heard Towergate insist it's returned within 6 months of the policy start but our campsite is shut then! Has anyone found a solution to this please? I'm getting desperate and would really appreciate anything0
