I live with my wife in a home which is owned by her parents. The house has no mortgage and we don’t pay any rent.We want to get a home improvement loan but as we don’t own the property, we can not get a mortgage. Where would be the best place to obtain a loan with a  low interest rate?

    Personal Loan from your bank?
Depending on how much you need would interest free credit cards be of any use?

What improvements do you want to make? And why would you pay to improve the parents/landlords house instead of getting them to do it?

As above, a personal loan from your bank.

Would you not be better to use the money you are saving from not paying rent to do home improvements?

It’s for an extension with new kitchen so too much for credit card. Will look to my bank for some rates.
