Do yourself a favour, send a text to get your PAC code and find a decent provider.
I didn't get a PAC code either so i just got one today. They used to be decent that's the thing. And the sim i have with them is a really good one i don't want to lose. Do i lose the sim after porting out do you know?
Yes, porting will terminate all service on the sim
Thanks, i shouldn't have ported my main number there oh well!
You can sometimes swap numbers between two sims on the same network and therefore detach the number you want to move from the sim then port away from a donor sim, however you require a lot of co-operation from your network....I wouldn't hold my breath for a happy outcome.

I genuinely don't think that RWG actually exist anymore, it's just become a sub brand of Now mobile, hence why those with Gamma sims seem to be in limbo.
Still says 'runs on nowmobile and 3' on the website. Not sure what you mean by 'in limbo'. Have gamma sims stopped working?
They still work but can't get any support.  If you ring RWG it is a recorded message telling you the number has changed. The "new" number is actually Now Mobile who can offer no support for the Gamma sims (I've tried), and all emails actually end up at Now Mobile.  The guy I spoke to at Now was fully aware of emails I had sent to RWG. If seems impossible to either extend  the sim or get a PAC code.

I'm also having trouble making/receiving calls, it's only just started happening (maybe started a week ago). Also, calls get dropped if I do manage to make a call.
Pity I signed up for a year, sigh, maybe just cut my losses.

    Who's the recommended provider then?

It's probably not much consolation but it's not just you. I have read on another forum that there has been problems with them re making & receiving calls & texts on three separate occasions in the last week or so.

I have had lots of issues with RWG over the last few months. They still exist but their customer service is non-existent. The best thing is to complain to the Communications Ombudsman, select RWG on the drop down menu and let them know the issues you are having and the resolution you would like. They are friendly and will help resolve the issue and can even award compensation.
  • Just arrived in France with my Gamma SIM and no connection to ANY operator, so no mobile data for navigating to Paris, or phone calls to daughter awaiting. Fortunately found a Lidl with free wifi to download route maps and use whatsapp.

Got through to Now on the new number and all they could say was email rwgwales, we can't help you. Useless.
Sent an email to rwgwales but not expecting much of a resolution.

Has anyone managed to get number porting from rwgwales?

All emails to rwgwales go to now mobile!
Try an email to gamma directly at Mobile@gamma.co.uk .
They helped me out with a PAC code recently.

I'll hop in here too. Been with RWG for 2 years and everything has been good up until this last month.
The quality of service has deteriorated to the point where its impossible to make calls or receive them regardless of location, from/to other mobiles and from/to landlines. RWG has no customer service whatsoever, does not respond to any email support enquiries, doesn't answer the phone and instead leaves you with no other choice but to contact Now-mobile (who RWG basically sell sim cards for).  I've got 3 12-month sim cards with them, all have months left on the contracts and all 3 are having service issues now. So I've requested my PAC codes by texting PAC to 65075.

Unfortunately RWG doesn't have any customer service and has palmed it off to "Now mobile" which also has zero customer support, refuses to answer tech emails and you are only left with the chance to talk with a very dumb bot in a chat window. (who can't solve anything.)

There are numerous stories online about RWG continuing to take monthly payments after people have left them and RWG not responding to emails, people having to do chargebacks to their bank cards etc...so the communications ombudsman really needs to look into how RWG is operating currently.  Looking at their last financials it appears they are massively in debt and not long for this world.

Can't wait to be done with them. If something is too good to be true, it almost certainly ends up this way, doesn't it?
