It's certainly got folk logging in and checking their accounts, maybe opening accounts to get anything going on offer.

I just don't get why having read all the  T&C's on it they are posting messages in the app when you log in and sending some emails when clearly you need to jump through a few hoops before getting this £50.
Looking at my own circumstances (mentioned in an earlier post) I have zero balance in my saver, not done any transactions for at least a couple years, it seems computer probably will say no.
Why say to me personally by name in the message, you are in effect getting £50.

Now logging in today the message has been removed, maybe they have realised now I don't qualify?

During the week my mum got a letter detailing this offer.
She doesn't have the app, but does use the website. And everytime she is asked about turning off paper statements, she declines.

Like someone else in this thread, I received the email saying I would receive this £50 but I'm not sure I'm eligible either. I did have a savings account with quite a bit in it at one point but it's been empty and dormant for a good 5-6 years I think now. When I looked in my files, I'm can't even find any proof I had it - no account number or passbook or anything. So, not going to moan if I'm ineligible but would my local branch find my details if I just went in with passport, proof of address etc? Saying that, it might even have had an old address linked to it...

I and Mrs Baker had a joint FlexAccount which we allowed to go dormant around 15 years ago. We have both received letters advising us we are eligible for the £50 payment! The trouble is, we have no cards so although I still have the account details and the Nationwide app confirms the account can be located, we have no way of logging in and accessing it. Has anyone else encountered this type of scenario?

I think in fairness to Nationwide - they have decided on a £50 member bonus. That's more than Coventry members are getting from the acquisition of Co-op Bank (unless they make some announcement soon).

How can a company make real money soon after acquisition of some other company? I think a short-term effect is quite opposite.

Nationwide took over Virgin Money on 1st October 2024, exactly 3 months before Coventry BS took over The Co-operative Bank. This isn't to say Coventry will follow suit in time, they may or may not, but it's too early to say definitively that they will or wont do something and what that'll be.

An eligible member could ask them if they intend to at next month's AGM:
