Long shot - one app is in your secure folder, the other isn't?

ETA Just tried this with my long-dormant CMC app - added a quid to my empty cash ISA from Natwest app.

Have to say that 4.59% is rather tempting, despite ooer-ing about QMMFs.
Nope, no apps in secure folder. Did it direct you to open the Natwest app or did you get directed to the Natwest log in page within your browser?

Straight to Natwest app. Did seem to be a bit of a stutter because it needed to update some bit of open banking software - can't be specific, it was only on the screen for a second or two.

    OH with same model phone?

Dunno, are you running any AV on your phone? Or a VPN? Up-to-date OS? Just grasping at anything that might be upsetting the flow between apps.

Do you have a tablet you can try it on?

Nope, no tablet. OH phone is a bit of an older Samsung but still fairly modern in the the way that all other apps run without a hitch.

Could try to install CMC on my work phone, which is a Samsung S22. I don't know if CMC allows multi app use and I would need to also install another banking app, which may cause problems.

I guess I only have the option to make a manual bank transfer and and hope it gets credited the same day and acknowledged. I would just have to swallow interest loss of a day if only credited the next day.

No problem running CMC Invest app on 2 devices, ditto NatWest/RBS.

Did you not say that you could connect to NatWest directly via their web interface? It's not ideal but if you've got the login details to hand (or in your password manager) it's not too onerous.

CMC app says manual xfers credited next day.

Open Banking never redirects to the app on my phone. I've put it down to a web-filtering service I've got running and just live with it. Though next time I'm renewing the Yougov connections, perhaps I'll investigate.

Ok, so set up natwest and CMC on my S22 work phone and the app opened without problem when open banking was selected. What I noticed, on my work app the default browser was Google Chrome, on my own phone it was set for some reason to Samsung browser. Changed the default browser to Chrome and it immediatly worked as expected.

Either the app developers, True Layer or a combination of both prevent Samsung browser to be used for such operations.

Or Samsung browser is stopping TrueLayer from reaching out to the apps. Which is the more likely scenario. Same as what seems to happen when the URLs get fed through my web filter. The links probably use a special URI scheme that is not supported by the Samsung browser.
