  • Hi guys!

Well, I called Barclaycarp and have been told that they can't change any of my APRs... :(

Even after I threatened with leaving / doing a balance transfer to another card (this is my only card and no others will have me - so a little lie) they said, well, that's up to you, but there's nothing available to you...

    so it still stands..

    CASH - 21.9% APR
    PURCHASES - 17.9% APR

Oh well... roll on the refund from my flights so I can close the card once and for all!

    Hope you're all well today!
    much love,
    LP

  • Sorry to hear that Honey, did they put you through to a retentions department or was it just the first person you spoke to?

Shame about Barclay card! Greedy sods :rotfl:
Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month
  • I know! I just can't wait for the refund to come back, and to pay the balance.
I've saved a couple of hundred for the rest of what should be on the card after the refund.

My plan is, get to work, see that refund has gone in, then call them up straight away, ask for balance including interest and say, 'right, I'd like to pay the full balance and close the credit card NOW please!'

    ooooo! I can't blinkin' blonkin' wait! :D

  • Just called the airline to see when the refund will be paid and they have said it will be any time within the next month... better than nothing I guess!

they also confirmed that I will get £951.90 back :D

After that comes back I will owe £247.10. I am planning to put £50 per week onto my card until the refund is cleared. Then once the card is refunded I will call up and wipe out the rest.

If the refund happens before 20th Feb, I will only have to pay an extra £28 for interest...

    that's all for now...

  • Morning!

    Here's my update for payday...

    Credit Card - [STRIKE]£1,199.10[/STRIKE] £1,149.10 (after refund should be [STRIKE]£247.61[/STRIKE] £197.20)
    Old Overdraft - [STRIKE]£212.50[/STRIKE] £204.55
    Mum & Dad - £1,250.00
    TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£2,662.11[/STRIKE] £2,630.60 (after refund should be [STRIKE]£1,709.70[/STRIKE] £1,678.60)

Doing okay I suppose, but the £30 interest this week put me back a bit... nevermind, to be expected!

Very happy that I've got under £200 to pay on my credit card (once the refund comes back) WOAW! that's really exciting! :T

    Big love to all!
