If you win you have to pay the cost of the windows up front and then once installed they will reimburse you!!!
Well that is what the bloke said to us last month after he came out to tell us we had won. We politely told him where to go.

So there should be a tickbox saying "Do you have 7 grand sitting in your bank account?" too, then! Sounds well dodgy...

As much as I'd like new windows... think I might give this one a miss. Thanks for all the comments from the last comp!

  • WIN a full house of windows worth £7,000 inc VAT!

I work for Weatherseal and I would just like to point out a couple of things.

Our standard featurehome promotion that is available to the general public is the promotion where we give customers the opportunity of a full cash refund. We have used this successfully since 1997 and 4 customers a year receive a full refund along with another 44 customers who get partial refunds.

The promotion that is available on the internet only at www.weatherseal.co.uk/competition.php is a completely free no obligation promotion. If you do not wish to have any communication from Weatherseal regarding any other promotions we run then simply tick the opt out box and you will not be contacted unless your name is drawn out of the hat.

We will publish winners online within 30 days from the end of the draw. Good luck.

Had my phone call from them this afternoon about the competition even though I opted out. Looks like they are up to their old tricks again...

Was told I couldn't be entered in the comp as I wouldn't listen to their sales speel...

Think I'm going to buy a phone recorder as I'm getting a bit fed up with these calls. Better get myself ready for their next set of phone calls as they ususally call me at least twice a day for a week or two.

Should have known better than to enter another one of their comps :(

They are doing theirselves any favours by persisting on these tactics. It would be interesting to get wsholdings thoughts on the fact that they are still phoning people when the boxes have been ticked. I got a call Friday/Saturday as well.

As mentioned, this bunch should be avoided at all costs, they use bullying tactics and tell blatant lies. Their feature home thing isn't a competition, it's a permanent promotion that they use to sucker people in. Thanks to the OP but I would avoid like the plague after our experience.

EDIT: sorry just realised wsholdings has clarified the featurehomes point already and distinguished this competition, thanks.

  • If anyone who has received a sales call and wants to be removed from future sales promotions then please contact myself and I will log onto the system and update your details. I will need the postcode you used when entering the competition. Anyone that has entered the competition has an equal and fair chance of winning the promotion regardless of what you have been told on the telephone by a canvasser. I am sorry if you have been misled. Kind Regards WSHoldings.

Thank you so much to all the posters above - I have added them to my list of the sites to avoid for spam - albeit by phone, by the sounds of it, in this case - I'll get around to updating the list on the tips thread soon.

It is incredibly helpful to know about these peops.

  • yeah, apparently we 'won' a second prize of partial reimbursement for our double-glazing, provided, that is, we agreed to have the whole house double glazed in the next two months. the guy was very vauge in his definition of 'partial' too, so I would't have been surprised to find it was 0.01% (technically he wouldn't have lied).

I'm not being funny, but if a prize requires payment to receive it, it isn't a prize. it's a con. at best a business-write-off. netiher of which are the defintion of 'prize.'
