OMG I am in such a flap today as Morrissey had to abandon his concert last night after 3 songs as he was ill. He has cancelled his gigs tonight and tomorrow.
I will be totally gutted if he cannot do his gig next Friday. Get well soon Moz!! Pleeeese!!
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • More Morissey info - he's on 'Friday Night with Jonathon Ross' on Feb 1st :)

Yes, they record the "live" show the day before so if his is OK to perform on the recording on Thursday he should be OK for Friday night (I hope). I will keep an eye on morrissey website.

I really hope to miss the J Ross show as I will be watching Moz live at his performance in Sunderland when the show is being aired!!

    Ill Morrissey postpones concerts

Singer Morrissey has been forced to reschedule two London concerts after losing his voice.
The former Smiths frontman encountered problems during his set at the Roundhouse on Friday night and has been advised to rest for four days.
His sold-out tour of the UK - the first for two years - is expected to resume in Doncaster on Wednesday night.
An announcement about when the two rescheduled dates will take place is set to be made next week.

    Thanks for that setmefree2!

If he is OK for Doncaster on Weds its looking good for Friday.

The Smyths were brilliant last night, really good atmosphere. Didn't spend much as I was driving so lime & soda for me.

Im going to have a look at matched betting again today to see if I can get my head around it for about the fifth attempt. Im sure it will all click into place at some point in time and I am eager to get my hands on all that free money!

I have just received my payslip from work today and I have been paid for only half the hours that I have worked in December.

I work for two different departments which required me to make two pay claims and somehow one of them was accidentally misplaced under some paperwork and missed the deadline.

"It's OK the personnel Department said, I will get paid for the hours owed in my February 29th pay". That's OK then......not!

It makes me really angry when someone can do a mistake like this and its pooh-poohd as if it doesn't matter, well I suppose it doesn't for them, they have their wages on time.

So after my mega whinge "SORRY" my wages are short to the tune of around £300. I have decided to still overpay in February but I will have to use holiday savings which I will replenish from February's pay.

Still don't know if the gig will go ahead on Friday.

I have the start of a cold.

And the handle has just snapped off my vacuum cleaner.

I am sick as a chip!!

so sorry to hear of your messed up pay. I have had that experience as well when I was teaching part time:mad: As you say, they get their money, and assume for some reason it is ok that you don't! How on earth do they expect people to be able to live? It is almost as though they are doing you a favour by letting you work for them! It is particularly ironic, as more and more colleges etc rely on part time and / or temporary staff - if we all disappeared they would be in a right pickle. I am fortunate at the moment and have a full time contract (though a temporary one which ends this year). There is definitely a two tier system for college and university staff - full time permanent staff and the others, Unfortunately the people who are responsible for the pay all seem to fall into the former camp.

    Yes I agree!

They did the same thing two years ago at Christmas!! But I was only working for one department then so just got a tax rebate for my Christmas pay and had to wait until January 31st for my owed money.

On another, more positive note OH brought his payslip home last night with his pay rise on it and we are better off by £42 per month after tax so I am going to ring A&L today and ask them to up the mortgage payments. I just hope that as we are on a BR tracker I wont have to re-inform them every time there is a BOE rate change.

I was going to just keep the extra money for food/expenses etc but I haven't missed what I haven't had so I think to send it as an overpayment from the start is the best thing for me.

I have just rang the A&L to up my monthly mortgage payments by £40 a month which is OH pay rise after tax.

I was asked which mortgage account I would like it to be allocated to and I informed them the #2 account which was for the additional borrowing I made to pay off Credit Card Debt.

This balance currently stands at around £9514 and if left to run term it would take 15 years 5 months.

I have had a look at an overpayment calculator and have discovered that if I throw all my planned overpayments at this account the outcome would be:
    1. No overpayents = £79.49 for 15yrs 5 Months = Interest paid over term £4438.68
    2. Overpayments of additional £350 = paid off in 2 years 0 months interest paid over term £551.57
    Time saved = 13yrs 5 months
    Interest saved = £3887
