Hello LouiseJ. people may not always post, but they still read. glad to see you getting the family to share chores. I am a great believer in getting children ready for real life, it doesn't do them any harm. Just a question though, what are the rest of the family doing to help pay off mortgage? is OH doing more work? Have you got a mortgage pig? Are kids sorting out stuff to sell on ebay/amazon etc. And why no fish on your menu plan? LOLunsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

Our Tumble Drier went before Christmas, Its been a good one (12 years Old) but I have decided not to replace it at all and I am managing with clothes airers and washing line, it just takes a little more planning but saves in electric (A LOT)!
As I know you read my thread, you'll possibly not be surprised, with our kids being 1 and 3, that we can do 5, or 6 washing loads per week, or sometimes one every day.
We also have a tumble drier, and that was getting a lot of use in the autumn, but now that the heating is on more, we're using airers / radiators a bit more.
In response to misskj, our eldest (at nursery) has recently taken to wanting to walk there, as he likes walking in the frost! While we're probably saving a minute amount on petrol, every little helps...!

We are having Cod for dinner tonight with chips, peas & tartar sauce Mmmm.:p
Ds's are really good at generating income from unwanted games etc. They would have liked guitar hero III for Christmas but unfortunately Santa didnt bring it so they clubbed together and managed to buy it from selling on Ebay.
They get £3 a week pocket money each AGES 14 & 12 and they only get it if they remember to ask for it! I only buy gifts for birthdays or Christmas so anything else they would like they have to save for or think of ways to make extra money. My 14 year old is trying to think of a way to earn income but it is difficult in our village as there are no shops so no paper rounds available the nearest village with a shop is 3 miles away.
OH is fine to go along with anything I decide but he does like his 2 cans of lager every night and fortnightly night out which I dont mind but I do think he should cut down on the lager. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Just got my first mystery shopping assignment in ages. I have decided as I have so little free time at the moment only to do the straight forward ones like the banks, clothes shopping and supermarkets and to not accept the fast food ones.
With the fast food ones I have to do the shop alone (I would not usually eat in a fast food restaurant alone) you are re-embursed for the price of the meal + £4, which for the time it takes to travel, eat the meal and report online is not worth the hassle for me.
So I have one lined up for a bank on Tues for £10 fee. I will keep on the look out for others but I have to be quick as there is obviously someone else operating on my patch:mad:But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Hi LJ,
Your grocery challenge seems to be going well:T0 -
Quite a good week really,
Positives
· Finished 2 sets of accounts this week which earned me another £230 for the overpayment pot for February.
· I have managed to stick within budget on grocery challenge.
· Starting to get into the flow of things at work again and am managing to plan my time better as I get used to the new extra hours.
· Managed to grab a £10 mystery shop for next week
· Won £20 on “Free games on Thursdays” at Gala Bingo site.
Negatives
· Very little response on the sharing of chores topic and find myself still doing the lions share on a daily basis.
· Had to spend £10 on car repair and was told I shall need a new exhaust soon costing £110.
Things to consider next week
· I am being observed by one of our internal college inspectors on Thursday next week so need to plan a really good lesson and make sure my paperwork is spot on!
· I am going to try and get my head around Matched Betting.
· Have tickets to see MORRISSEY and a hotel room booked to stay overnight we will have to eat out so need to find a reasonable restaurant (probably Indian it’s our favourite). I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Going to download his new single and learn the words before I go, How sad am I.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Yes! His set list has been posted from the Roundhouse Gigs on Morrissey solo site and he sings "How soon is now", "Stop me if you think you've heard this one before", "Please Please let me get what I want" and maybe a few others if he feels like it (he is very unpredictible). He wont be singing my favourite though "There is a light that never goes out". This is my third time seeing him and the tickets were my Christmas present.
We are going to see The Smyths tomorrow night they are a fab tribute band for the Smiths and you get some members of the audience stage diving and dressing as Morrissey (not me or OH, we are far too square for that). If you like the Smiths and they are playing near you check them out, they have their own website with video clips but it doesn't do them justice and tickets are only about £5 at their gigs. Should really get us in the mood for the Moz gig.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
