  • Hi LouiseJ,

Good news on the upping by 40/pm!

Question - so where does that put you in relation to your own 14/07/14 target?

    Yours curiously,

Had a quick look and it puts me at 14/01/14, thats exactly 6 years from now, even that seems too far away! If I can find another £100 to throw at it I will be cleared by 14/02/13. I have some AXA cashbuilder plans due to mature in June 2014 and originally I was going to use these to clear any outstanding Mortgage but it looks like the money will be mine....all mine!!

Do you think its to early to price up a carribean cruise for 2014?:rotfl:

Off work Sick today so all I have to do is look on here and file my tax return!
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • It's never too early LouiseJ!

And what better incentive to keep you on track!

    Good for you.

The cold I had on Monday/Tuesday has developed into something not nice at all.

I fell terribly sick and have flu like symptoms. I have not been able to go to work today and will be taking tomorrow off too.

This means that next months pay will be 11 hours short, but never mind I'll be getting my December pay then!!

Looks like Moz will be appearing tonight in Doncaster so I will be keeping a close eye on the Moz site to see if he really has recovered from illness. If he had what I've got I really sympathise.

I will still be going to the gig on Friday Night (if its on) even if my head is hanging off!

Hi LouiseJ. Hope you're feeling ok. That's really good news regarding chipping ~ 6 months off the term. Try to think of it in terms of monthly payments. After my February payment on Friday, I've hopefully a mere 58 months / payments remaining. Doesn't sound as long as 5 years ;)

Oh, and it's certainly not too early to consider holidays - we're going to Florida - well we're planning to, except it's a tad early to be booking for 2013

    Regards,

  • Hi LouiseJ,

I feel for you - I have had this wretched bug and it also wiped me out! I had it over Christmas, had a week respite, then back again.

I ended up going to the GP to get some antibiotics as my sinus infection wasn't going away!

So, if its still around in a few days, be brave and go to the GP - don't sit it out like me.

    Wish you better ;)
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Great news on the Morrissey front, he did his gig at Doncaster so he should be OK for Friday I think.

I am feeling a little better this morning, the nausea seems to have gone but I have still taken today off work. I plan to go back tomorrow as I am only there from 9.30am til 1pm and I feel a bit funny about staying off work and then going to a concert on the night. It would be my luck that my boss is a secret Moz fan and bumps into me there.

Have decided to go through last months spending diary and find any spending hot spots. I know I have spent alot on petrol and meals/drinks out last month as we had a few family birthdays.

Will report back with a full damage report.

Off to have a Lemsip..... sniff.

I have shocked myself when I have analysed our January Spending, here is the full damage: Remember this is spending out of what is left of OH salary after all DD's come out anything over this comes out of my wage which should be kept for savings and overpayments on mortgage!

    Food £241.52
Work £37.90 (cups of coffee for OH & DS 1 day at college, 2 cups tea week for me)
    Petrol £209.00
Take aways £38.40 (1 Indian shared with neighbours and 1 pizza night because I burned curry, 1 Chinese)
Meals & Nights Out & Alchohol bought for home £218  ( 3 meals out, £40 on cans lager, £9 on 3x btls red wine, £46 nights out for OH, £14 joint night out)
    Lottery £8.00
Gas £68.00 (2 x LPG 47K bottles as no mains gas here).
    Guitar Tutor £36.00
    Phone Top Up £5.00
    Hairdressers/Barbers £41.00 (my hair was desperate & both DS's)
    Car repair £10.00
    Pocket Money £24.00

Total £936.82 I should be around the £650 mark.
