Passport worry

Hello
I am going to Egypt soon and I applied for an Egyptian Visa.
However, they said they could not read the signature on my passport so my dad said go over the signature which was previously signed on black ink with a more legible signature.
This is worrying me because I wrote over it but I seem to be getting mixed signals as to whether this will cause problems or not as I have the old style passport, not the most recent type of passport.
Thank you for your help.
Regards

Do you have a full UK British Citizen passport?

Where you going in Egypt and for how long?

Some parts of Egypt you dont need a visa for a short stay, assuming the answer to the first question is yes. If you are going to the other areas then I've just always gotten the visa at the airport after landing which is us$25 and must be paid in cash.

    Hi

Yes I do I am going to Giza

the thing that worried me was that because the visa people couldn’t read the passport signature that my dad wanted me to sign over my signature in black ink

I am having kittens about this as I don’t want it to be an issue when I go on holiday if there is an issue with the signature.

    Thanks

I take it from the most recent response that you haven't actually gone over the signature again.  Don't!  Contact the Passport Office and get their advice.  I suspect you will need to apply for a new passport.

It’s my thinking as well because going over the signature has got me concerned Can do a speedy delivery under the circumstances it’s just I’ve explained this to my parents and they seem to think it’s ok but inside I’m desperately concerned about this !

Is this one where you uploaded a copy of your signature and the passport office printed it with that included, or where you received adn physically signed the passport?

What exactly have you written on? I just checked my old style passport and the only signature is an electronic printed one underneath the laminated portion of the photo page. It's not even the actual size as slightly shrunk so not sure how you would have written on that?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I agree with @DullGreyGuy. Although it was some years ago, I went through the rigmarole of getting a visa online and then, when we arrived in Egypt, we had to wait while other passengers got their visas at the airport.

Are you going with a tour company? I'd check whether visas are still available at the airport on arrival.

I'm still unclear whether you have overwritten the signature on the passport. If you haven't, please don't.

Just to say thanks for your help I explained my concerns to mum and dad and whilst they were out, they rung up and I said to my mum did you explain in a lot of detail including the signature issues and she says she did and they said the passports are all fine so we will just have to see what happens.

Reading the OP's stuff - it appears he/she has gone over the signature ?
I reckon you are correct though, a new passport is the only way forward.
