Hi , my IDS shares were worth about 4k l had 1175 of them l think . l last looked on my Barclays app during last week or so and they weren't changing much but today on checking they are saying worth zero.  Please tell me l have not lost 4k. My son took his own life on the 15th April so understandably l have not been quite as vigilant re: messages etc but having said that l can't see any urgent emails or messages alerting me to take action on my Barclays Stockholder online acct or Barclays app. Please can someone advise me what happens now.  :'( Just to add I am still been given option even though deadline says 13thMay to 'take no action' or 'tender (amount calculated by shareholder) at GBP 3.6 per share. Should I try and select that ? It's defaulting to take no action atm

Did you tender them? If you tendered them they will be removed from your account and in due course you'll receive cash for them. If not it's probably just bad data that will correct itself. Don't worry.

If you haven't tendered them to the company that's acquiring IDS note that they will be delisted from the LSE on 02/06/25.

I don't think l did but am really not sure what l have done as you can imagine my head is all over place with sudden bereavement, but don't recall doing anything pro actively . l just (in normal circs) check my share prices once  a week and they were hovering around same price for quite a while so l just left them (or l think l did). My Barclays stockbroker acct has ticked box that says do nothing as if l have chosen that and there is another box l could tick that says tender at GBP 3.6 offered (is that £3.60 or 36p ??) Should l try ticking that box even though it says deadline was 13th May as it still seems be showing as an option to switch from default to tender..
Also what happens if l am too late and they get delisted ?

Sorry ignore all that my Barclays stockbroker account confirms l defaulted to 'take no action' and won't let me switch to tendering as l thought it looked like it would, so what will happen now ? Ironically my late son was in finance so would've been my go to for advice :(

I missed the tender deadline apparently on Tuesday 13th (my son's funeral as it happens). So what happens now have l lost all my money . Can I appeal to anybody Barclays stockbrokers or IDS directly or whoever because of the circumstances?

You haven't lost the money. If you haven't been able to accept the offer, then you'll almost certainly get your shares bought compulsorily now (for the same £3.60 per share as the offer), because acceptances are just up to 90.152145% (see https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/IDS/holding-s-in-company/17040995 ), and the bidder is entitled to buy out the rest when they have 90%+. It might take slightly longer to get the money than accepting the offer, though.

Firstly im very sorry to hear about your son.

If you didn't tender your shares, i beleive you still can. You can get more information here on how to do so. There is different action to take depending on if you held your shares via a physical certificate or in the nominee share service.idsoffer.shareview.info/ordcsn.htm#certificated_shareholders

You haven’t lost anything. Whilst they’re still listed you can sell them into the market, see whether there’s still an option to tender them via Barclays or, now that the 90% acceptance threshold has been passed, wait for them to be compulsorily purchased (IIRC the acquirer said they would do this if the opportunity arose).

If you want the money sooner rather than later sell them into the market - last I looked they were selling for 359p vs the 360p purchase offer.

Depending on how quick Barclays has been to credit it to your account, you should have received an 8p per share dividend on 14/05.
