Early start for me today. It's a milder day here this morning and it's dry.
My list for today
Take DD to/from the stables
Laundry x 1
Pack stuff for overnight stay (need to go away tomorrow into Monday for work)
Answer emails that are waiting to be answered
Check over and update diary for next week
Sort out paperwork on the printer.
Do a couple of hours of revision for upcoming exams
Take the dog for a long walk
Deal with Mr T delivery
It's only a short list for me today but think that is everything that I need to get done. I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.

Morning all,
Well it’s not raining and it’s milder, so I guess that is a win. Sun is promised at some point during the day.
DH is planning on using the dry day to put up the new outside lights that he bought an age ago. I have set a load into the wm. Once that is finished, I need to give myself a severe talking to and shift myself to walk to the allotment. I didn't waste my time in the WAC though, as I think I might have figured out a work around for the dressmaking that has been leading me up the garden path. I just need to remember what amazing solution I came up with!
As per yesterday’s list, I want to make a cake or suchlike later to make full use of every shelf when I have the oven on for dinner - I have indulged DH and bought a chicken for roasting, so that should keep him happy.
Have a good day all x4 -

Windows are open upstairs to let some fresh air through.
Pops has facetimed me from Benidorm. He's looking well but says he's tired all the time, which he finds frustrating.
Going to check the weather forecast before I decide to peg out the washing.

Oh Round it's 💩 central here. Tuesday - mum admitted to care home in crisis. Thursday night (10:30ish) Stepdad crashes his car, so I had to drive across steel city to the Northern General (never been before, didn't know where it was) and then he was transferred to the Hallamshire (where DD works, ward next to a ward where she works) and to which I can get without navigation aids. I was at NGH until about 3 am then I came home. At the Hallamshire all day yesterday and managed to see the docs AND get myself put down as next of kin. He's got 'backlash'; he may have had another seizure. He will lose his licence (yay!) and if he doesn't I will fight tooth and nail to keep him off the road. No-one else involved but damage to street furniture. Slept for about an hour before I had my tea last night - I was so shattered.
It's a good job it wasn't my week to run the thread.
Anyone got any requests for next week?

Daily stuff doneCats fedNew cat flap is working a treat, no strange cats in, but did spot a couple outside trying to get in, on the cam we set up to watch how the cats got on with the new cat flap, they are fine.Walked next doors dog as they have some problems with the other dog and it cannot be left, so fit doggie and I have got our step in yesterday and today, not sure if I'll be needed for tomorrow, but it will all act as 'favours' when I want the cats fed if we are away.No hat or gloves needed on walk, but I had them with me in anycase, misty out to sea.Going to hoover in a bit.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Washing brought in. Dry but cold to the touch, so I've put it on the airer to warm up.
I didn't want to waste the afternoon but I didn't want to do anything arduous- so I brought down packets of photos and thinned them out a little - binning duplicates, blurred, etc. Found a lovely photo of DS (aged 10ish?) with me and I've put that in a frame on display in LR. I was usually behind the camera so photos of us together are quite rare.
Hope you've had a peaceful, 💩 free day Valli xx Well, I hope you all have actually.

Lost this / something similar a couple of hours ago, when DH decided to turn the power off:
I’ve been to the allotment and rescued some veg that I now need to sort out. Pottered around doing a couple of jobs, but oh my days, the mud!
Came home and put the washing outside, thanks to Round’s incessant nagging 🤣. As the forecast for tomorrow is not so good, I am thinking of maybe an hour or so in the back garden now to get some cuttings into the green bin. One of my huge (and favourite) shrubs at the back of the garden seems to have died, which is a big blow on a number of counts, not least because it was attractive and added to the mature look.
Valli, after the week that you’ve had, I would suggest that next week’s list needs a lot of TLC and flying self care in it x
So… washing dried outside and is now in, 2 hours in the garden has given me a fullish green bin with still another week until the collection. Now to wash the veg, play hunt the slugs at the same time, then think about what veg to cook to go with the chicken.

Today I
- tidied round as necessary and loaded the DW;
- went to a church fundraising meeting (we're talking at least £30K for a disabled ramp to the main entrance alongside new, shallower steps) and volunteered myself for some extra work, but (a) it is mostly stuff that I can do at my desk and (b) it has a reasonable deadline;
- stayed on to talk to a friend who wanted to run an Easter event for children, but I've pointed out that it would incur expense (not a good idea, given our parish finances atm) and to be truly effective would need to be part of a long-term programme which we are not in a position to make happen, so we've agreed to change tactics and do something far simpler;
- got bitterly cold in the unheated church, and felt awful for the next six hours (but am OK again now);
- did some essential shopping in town;
- made lunch;
- took Rosie for a walk in the sunshine;
- started putting together a display for the Eco noticeboard, which I may or may not get finished in what's left of this evening;
- made our traditional Saturday night risotto;
- started making stock from the chicken carcase, in the hope of a tasty soup for the start of next week.
See you on the new thread, if not before xxx5 -

I'm up, made my bed taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with FIVE hints required 🙈, completed Wordle in four, but only managed two lines on Connections. I've supped my firstbrew and I'm ready for brew 2.
