Morning all
Decorator in the house so flyingminimsl/not possible.
Bèn an eventful and stressful few days the upshot of which is mum is moving into a care home today.
Got washing to peg out. So thats something.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear7 -
(((Hugs))) to you Valli, and to your sister and dad xxx It's a very difficult decision to make, and you have gone about it very stoically.
Narc0, I hope the solicitors get things moving ahead now without any more of that childish behaviour x
Jazee, let's hope the vampire visit brings some answers x
round, hopefully you have had a reasonable start to your working day with no repercussions x
Sunny here, and thankfully not as cold as it was yesterday by the time I was ready to go out in the garden - as a result of which I still have allium bulbs to plant
I hoovered through downstairs and mopped the kitchen floor yesterday, so today is the turn of upstairs. That means first tidying my study [sigh...]

Just back from getting my hair cut. I stripped the bed before I went, loaded the wm, completely forgot about turning said wm on until I typed this. Bed still needs to be remade as well. But as it is Tuesday, it is admin afternoon, which means that cleaning the bathroom and the bedroom (bed remaking excluded of course) is being put on the waiting list until tomorrow.
Yesterday DSis and BiL dropped in for unplanned lunch. DH took the opportunity to get a couple of boxes from my mum’s house down from the loft. DSis took a couple of ornaments, so something has left the house. I have now have a massive plastic box filled with exquisite embroideries and complicated patchworks (some of each partly done) to decide what to do with. I have enough embroidery threads now to keep me going for sure. They smell of my mum’s house which set me back for a few minutes. I have also added Sort Family History boxes to my ever growing to do list, helped by reading Iona’s amazing progress with her ancestors.
Ok, procrastination over - turn on wm then it’s admin time.7 -
Afternoon,
I had my Grandson yesterday so not alot got done. He's 2 1/2 so that probably covers it for alot of you lol, he wants all my attention all of the time and you can't say no to him.
Today I've walked to the doctors and back to put a prescription in. The receptionist says they haven't heard from my consultant about my med dose increase.
I've done one load in the WM, dressing gowns, throw and cushion covers. Half of that could go in the TD.
I've done a freezer inventory and rejig.
I've prepped and put the SC on and made some sausage rolls and the DW is now on.
I'm now having a coffee before starting again.7 -
Poking my head back in again. Didn't get a huge amount of flying done last week, trying again now.Lovely sunny day here, washing is on the line. FUPA yesterday's which I forgot to put out until late in the day but mostly dried overnight on the airers and is now in the airing cupboard finishing off. Have cleaned the shower cubicle, put a loaf of bread in the machine, and put some oven cleaner on the bottom of the oven and the glass door. Will need to do the shelves, but that might get procrastinated into tomorrow's efforts. OH is away until Thursday evening, so I've got a lack of motivation to do stuff.... Let's face it, anything, even doing nothing, is more appealing than cleaning.Think I'll go and do some ironing while the sun's giving me free electric from the solar panels.Must remember to wipe out the oven before the cleaner dries solid.Make £2025 in 2025

Valli, hard but no doubt the right choice. No one would think solicitors were working for the person paying them, sounds like a bunch of school kids, squabbling, hold things up and causes stress when it is not needed.Daily stuff doneCats blanket out on line, there is sun shine the 1st time in about 18 days (news weather person was explaining how many days with out sunshine we had had) cat 2 has been trying to get it off the line, as normally he uses it for afternoon sleeeeepies. So he is currently in the raditor bed, with one eye on me!!Been to supermarket, I must have my guest services hat on today, 1st SMarket, and old boy is looking for table salt and wants a large box of it, any way find it for him off he goes happy, 2nd SMarket, little old lady small, wanted bin bags and of course they are at 6foot up the shelf, ' oh I been waiting for someone to come along to help me' as she looked about 90+ I asked her if she had a carer who could help her, it seems the carer was in the coffee shop nattering to a friend and playing on her phone!! I nearly said something, but took my CS hat off and went to pay,Nearly done 10K steps, so pleased, just off out while the sun is out to do the last ones .Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hugs Valli.
Tuesdailies are done and in a moment of inspiration I've put all my knitting and sewing paraphernalia in one large plastic tub in the cupboard of doom. My sewing machine is on top of the cabinet in my office. So all easily accessible if I get the urge again or need to sew a button on.
Have had blood taken so finally had something to eat. Going to take Poppet for a second walk next. Oh and one wash load done which is on the airer.Spend less now, work less later.9 -

I have planted the last of the bulbs and the few winter bedding plants that didn't fit in the pots they were bought for, cut back the buddleia, hoovered and dusted all through upstairs, and am making jam in the SC using up some of the free blackberries from the lane (picked 2 or 3 years ago) that I found in the bottom of the utility freezer.
My desk is now as clear as it normally ever gets - though I am glaring at the excessive number of pens and pencils, all of which are neatly corralled in two containers, but now they offend my growing preference for semi-minimalism and need to be culled...
[5 minutes later] ... and it's done. Two pens and a biro were DH's and will be returned to his already overflowing stock (but that's his choice). One blue highlighter marker can go back in my spares box, as I generally stick to red and green. Two good pencils are also returning to spares, as also are 3 Italic marker pens and a red and a blue biro. The craft knife, long scissors, letter opener and nail file can go in the cutting implements drawer. This leaves one of the containers completely empty (it's a 2005 mulled wine mug from Germany) so that can go in the CS pile. And now I have an extra 4 square inches of free space on the desk - enough room for a mug of coffee

Got a wash done, all dishes are cleared and made a yummy crustless quiche for dinner, with leftovers for tomorrow.
