You can't end a defence with "Yours sincerely".

If you are intending to email the defence it needs the rest of the template and the Statement of Truth, plus your signature & date.

If not emailing it, then it might be easier on a phone: you can just copy & paste what your friend has written into the 'start defence' box on MCOL, using your Government Gateway log in and using the password that the Claim form provides for MCOL, on the right of the claim form.

If they are preparing it for you as a PDF to attach to an email, please tell them that you can sign & date it electronically under the Statement of Truth.

And to read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread for the email address and to make sure you get an auto-receipt from the CNBC.

I was due in court on the 4th September and was prepared to go but I've just received a letter stating they.are.discontinuing the case.
