  • Updated my 2025 goals to add in the last 2 - big thing for me - I absolutely LOVE to buy new notebooks and toiletries but barely use them! Absolute waste of money if it's all just stored in my cupboards.

I'm going to list everything that I use up and buy to keep myself accountable, feel like writing it down will help me see the problem and also the solution!
    • Pay off £7,450.68 - Lloyds CC
    • Pay off £40,758.08 - Mortgage
    • Lose weight - Goal weight 10st
    • Sort my house out
    • Use up stash of - stationary, toiletries, clothes, shoes
    • Buy to replace and only what is NEEDED

ADHD came to my mind when I read your post too.

Is the Lloyds CC interest free to the end of the year? If so you have a good plan to clear it so long as you do not spend on it.

The mortgage I would not worry about until the CC is gone.  Then direct some of the repayments to the mortgage and savings.

The household and diet stuff is really something which needs  to change gradually but my personal approach to keeping on top of household stuff is to pick about 4- 5 jobs a day - whether deep cleaning bathroom, hoovering the downstairs or changing bedlinen.  Over the course of about a week most things get done although I admit I am naturally tidy which makes it all easier. I cannot imagine how people cope if they have to tidy up before cleaning. Binning the takeaways except for once a month will help with the diet and saving money.  You could put the money away in savings rather than splash out on takeaway and that might motivate you.

  • Aw I wish I was a naturally tidy person - I honestly get so mad at how untidy I am at times but I cannot change it. Thinking about trying hypnotherapy if I can't get it under control by the end of the year.

Yeah I'm wanting to have the diet under control by the end of the year - it will take time but again the not forming habits makes it really difficult and also I'm really bad for bingeing and having really bad control over what I eat.

Anything I've got will be thrown at the Lloyds which is on 0% so even a wee extra £1 here and there will help.

Thanks for posting about mortgage overpayments I’ve looked at mine and going to start sending bits and bobs from now on.

  • I was going to wait until I could make a couple of larger lump sum payments but adding on that extra £8 a month means I won't really notice it coming out of my account and it's still an OP!

I'll still aim to pay the lump sum at the end of the year.

  • So I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, was planning a shopping trip today for a dress, shoes, bag and all the rest but instead had a rummage in the wardrobe.

Found a gorgeous full length navy dress which I got for £5 at a car boot sale, sandals my sister gave me and a bag which matches it all perfectly!

Still went out because I needed to get my nails done. It was so busy in the nail place though so went to Superdrug and bought polish, mascara and a blush - all for less than it would have cost me for my nails so I'm counting that as a win!

  • Although not so great news - car is back in the garage. Think it must be another part of the suspension, same noise as it made before so hoping it won't be too expensive to fix.

Also guy was supposed to come and take down and remove my shed but he's just confirmed he can't do it.

My nephew is replacing my fence which blew away during Storm Eowyn so don't really want to ask him to do more work. Will see if I can enlist the help of some people to attack it with a hammer, be a bit of a rage room experience.

  • Ready for bed.

Had soup and a toastie for dinner when I got home after my last dog walk. Had to bus it up and down which is a pain but at least it wasn't raining.

Almost got through my list for the day, will carry over the last 2 to tomorrow.

    - Need to try on dresses for a wedding I've got on Saturday
    - 2 paid dog walks
    - Drop car off to the garage
    - Shopping - meeting Mum and Sister for this so wee catch up at the same time
    - Tidy up

    - Change bedding
    - Organise laundry
    - Check funds
    - Register my new boiler warranty

Going to see the new Bridget Jones film with my friend in town tomorrow. We'll go to the Social Bite for lunch before it, they do the best chai latte - it is divine!

Well done on sourcing the wedding outfit from clothes you already have.  Enjoy the film and let us know if it is worth seeing.  I am hoping to go in the next few weeks but waiting for it to get quieter.

  • @enthusiasticsaver - Bridget was brilliant! I'd go see it again.

Still chuffed that I found something lurking in there for once my hoarding has actually helped.
