Para 1 Do not state I will be making a complaint. You ARE complaining and must state that. Do not give ECP opportunity to take your letter as an appeal and reply with 'you're too late to appeal'.Coupon-mad said:Just bung in a complaint FTAO the DPO
Dear Sir/Madam,

In your letter add Parking Charge No xxxxxxxxx and your reg no as keeper of vehicle xxxx xxx.

So send to the email To DPO@eurocarparks.com and begin the letter as you’ve specified
I’ve added the PCN number but just forgot to paste here (made as a draft in my emails!)
my understanding from what I’ve read across various threads was that I shouldn’t communicate with DCBLegal so I’m unsure, but for now I think I’ll just contact the DPO of ECP!Additionally, I’ve made a conscious effort to only refer to myself in the first person (me, I etc) when it comes to the end of the letter, only identifying myself as the KEEPER and not driver
I also wonder if I should upload my letter (redacted sensitive details) to the thread where all organisations PCNs are uploaded as my correspondence says “notice to owner” instead of “notice to keeper”
don’t know if that’s worth highlighting!
apologies, lots of new acronyms to learn here!
All in all, do you think this suitable to send off (with the recommended amendments you have given)?
thank you!1 -
No need to copy in DCB Legal unless they are involved. Thought you were only getting DCB Ltd threatograms?
I'd remove this unnecessary paragraph:
"There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close-up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle. "
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

and amazing, I’ll remove that. I think it’s very clear how unaware I am, thought to cover all bases but end up adding unnecessary filler to the complaint instead of making it straight to the point. Oops!Thanks!1 -
Really thank you so much for all of the assistance and guidance you’ve offered! The dedication you lot show to the thread is astounding2

Okay! Email has been amended, going to pluck up the courage to actually send to the DPO email of ECP
very nervous but also excited…my hope is that this can be the end of it and they leave well enough alone…if not, I will return in despair haha1 -
GET IT SENT RIGHT NOW. What's to be nervous about. You are right ECP did wrong and are attempting to 'extort money' (Govt words) from you. It's the reason ECP continue to make the same error, they hope people will just pay up and not complain.
Once your nerves have settled please sign the petition linked in the post below, and ecourage family, friends and work colleagues to do the same. 🙏2 -
