Debt letters, contacting surrounding businesses

Hello,
I’m sure my situation is not a unique one, as in the end the result is the same as what anyone has - a nasty big PCN!
In November, I parked in a car park overseen by ECP to drop my sister off at work at about 5:40am, then left. Returned at 10:30am or so to pick her up, and left again.
I get a letter through the door saying I stayed the e entire duration, seemingly the ANPR is faulty as they’ve mysteriously lost track of my car, specifically upon the initial exit and second entry.
Anyway, in my naïveté, I ignored the first letter….and the second…and now have my pretty little debt collection letter. I read up on the newbie section and absorbed as much as I could, and visited threads where people were successful in contacting businesses surround the car parks and contacted them (including my sister’s workplace at the time) but I was unsuccessful even with my insistence, utilising the wording used in several threads here, as they say they are point blank unable to do anything.
I am aware that I have missed the 28-day period to dispute, and I have also read on here not to bother with POPLA (which I don’t believe I could do anyway as I did not first appeal with ECP) due to them requiring the driver to be identified.
I am unsure what to do/how to progress. Continue burying my head in the sand? Take the risk and contact these immorally bankrupt people and tell them their camera is defective?

I don’t want to make assumptions about outcomes either way, but I work for the police and am just thinking of the absolute tragic comedy of (if) I’m taken to court over something like this…
So, where do I go from here?
Cheers all, and thanks for all the info that’s accumulated on these threads.

Common error known as 'double dipping'
search the forum read about others double dipping cases.2 -
If their (assume you mean Euro Car Parks) system did not allow you to appeal without identifying the driver, report them to the BPA.2

I've contacted some of the businesses nearby, with only one opting to attempt to cancel. They received a response stating that a business is ONLY allowed to cancel PCN for employees/contractors, and that as a customer I need to follow the appeals procedure, making my appeal within 28 days of receiving the letter...1

Register a complaint as per ECP Complaint policy make sure to say it's a complaint not an appeal. This thread explains what ECP didn't do as per CoP before issuing pcn.

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6548199/civil-enforcement-ltdSo would you advise that at this stage I contact ECP directly with the info outlined above and in the linked thread (of course utilising the great resources and templates on the newbie page too)?
thank you again!0 -
Just complain using the specific two terms 'double dip' and 'orphan images'.If you don't understand, search the forum for those exact words & copy from a thread like yours. The ANPR isn't "faulty"; it is DELIBERATELY programmed this way:

thanks so much for commenting and linking this info!0 -
We only advise ignoring debt collector letters and not real letters before/of claim. In this instance you are.as @Coupon-mad writes, issuing a complaint and not an appeal. If the response from the PPC is not satisfactory you can follow it up with a strongly worded reply and threaten to report them or actually report them to the BPA.2
