Debt letters, contacting surrounding businesses

Le_Kirk said:We only advise ignoring debt collector letters and not real letters before/of claim. In this instance you are.as @Coupon-mad writes, issuing a complaint and not an appeal. If the response from the PPC is not satisfactory you can follow it up with a strongly worded reply and threaten to report them or actually report them to the BPA.
thanks again! Massively appreciated0 -
If you are going to use the text provided in the NEWBIE sticky about how how to respond to a LOC, we don't need to see it (unless you modify it massively)2

Thank you! I just also received an email back from the senior management team from the starbucks I visited (and purchased from) at the time of the fine - they say they have reached out to ECP with no response...does this harm my complaint in any was as, although I myself have not contacted ECP, they have done so?
Many thanks again for you help, unless I modify to such an extent, I'll send. Got home early to do it today

Not harmed!
Just bung in a complaint FTAO the DPO of ECP that includes the 2 phrases I gave you.
Add that the Senior Management Team of Starbucks have been contacted and are enraged* that the ANPR images were not adequately checked before ECP rushed to illegally harvest DVLA data.
*doesn't matter if they weren't. Just say it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hiya me againwhen you say for attention of DPO of ECP, do you mean direct my complaint via email to
additionally after having a look of their site it says “The complaint must be made within 56 days of the incident taking place.” I assume this is some trivial time limit they’ve set and to firmly ignore?

Success!! I found a photo which I took elsewhere during the ‘offence’ as well as text exchanges which do the same (I hope)
this is what I have compiled from all the help from you guys and the newbie page:
To whom it may concern,
I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your conduct.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close-up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.I will bring it to your attention that the PCN claims a time in the car park of '4 hours & 39 minutes' which is wholly inaccurate as the driver was in the car park on two separate occasions, not the one you claim. These were two different fleeting visits at the times specified in the letter, a 'double dip', and had you done your due diligence you would see that this was the case, and you would have located these orphan images in which the driver could be seen leaving and entering in between the 'entry' and 'exit' time you have falsely specified. The allegation involves an overstay of minutes. This is not the case, and the Senior Management Team of Starbucks have been contacted and are enraged that the ANPR images were not adequately checked before ECP rushed to harvest DVLA data to harass a customer. In order to resolve the dispute, I attach copies of (A) a digital bank receipt, showing that on this date the driver was a customer of the on-site Starbucks upon the second visit of the site.Additionally, text exchanges (B) evidencing that the driver was elsewhere at the incorrectly specified time on the PCN, wherein it is stated that the car had to have snow removed prior to the second instance of commuting to xxxxx Car Park.It was snowing on this day (as mentioned) and on this day only during the period of the alleged offence, attached is a photograph (C) taken in xxxxx - some distance away from the xxxxx car park in xxxxx when it is wrongfully claimed that the driver was parked.
(A) - receipt of purchase. [picture attached in email]
(B) text exchange communicating travel from xxxxx to the xxxxx car park. [picture attached in email](C1-C4) showing a photograph taken at the time of the alleged offence which was also sent on WhatsApp at the time. The location is a considerable distance from the xxxxx Car Park as can be seen from the map on the bottom. With that, the resolution I expect is the PCN being cancelled and an apology to be issued to me for the distress and alarm caused by letters demanding that I pay money. Further I will be lodging an official complaint with the BPA and DVLA as a result of the outrageous conduct displayed by ECP as a result of these egregious claims and improper handling of my data.
I expect to hear from you as soon as possible so the matter is laid to rest.Yours Sincerely,XXXXXXX0 -
Forgot to say - the photograph and the texts are date and time stamped to evidence that I wasn’t actually sat in the car park, rather a considerable distance away
I’m also not used to being ‘firm’ in emails so I hope this is somewhat firm!
let me know your thoughts!1 -
Also send a copy to sarah@dcblegal.co.uk
I always think it's a good idea to keep the lovely Sarah in the loop in such matters.1 -

at this stage I’ve only just received my first debt recovery letter - at this stage in the process would it be good to send to her?
Also I’m unsure if ‘lovely’ is genuine or if through gritted teeth?
I love how helpful everyone here is - my thoughts are you must have all had some extremely scummy PCN through the letterbox at some point that you’ve had to challenge!0
