Good afternoon,
So far today, I have had a busy morning at the stables with DD. It's good to see her confidence grow again after her fall last year.
My list for this afternoon
Do uni prep for Monday
Do some revision for exams
Check banking and update payments
Hoover the living room carpet
Laundry x 2 loads
Deal with Mr T delivery
Do some training with the dog
Take the dog for a long walk
I think that is everything I need to get done today. I hope everyone is having a good Saturday.6 -

I arrived at church this morning with my contributions to the bring-and-share lunch to be told that K and the girls weren't coming and everybody wanted to get off back home as soon as the cleaning was done, so the food wasn't needed. Hey-ho. (Not what I felt like saying at the time!) Fortunately I managed to get home before DH had started cooking his own scrambled eggs, so we shared 2/3 of what I'd prepared for lunch, and the other 1/3 is safely tucked away into the fridge for me to finish off tomorrow, when DH will be out all day at the model railway club's open day.
I decluttered multiple spiders' webs at church from under the wooden chairs and behind the cast-iron radiators. With about 8 of us cleaning together, it didn't take long to MAD.
I've spent the rest of the day zzz-ing, taking Rosie for a walk, cooking tea, and trying to identify these blessed ancestors of mine who use the same names in every generation!
Will see you on the new thread, if not before xxx6 -
Ionafan you just made me think I'd lost a day when you said 'I arrived at church this morning'!!!!
I had a lovely Valentine's day including going for a run, visiting the local RSPB centre with Mr N for a walk, sorting out most of the knitting needles and doing a bit of other flying. We had a lovely meal at home. Marred at 10.45 by an email from Mum's house buyer's solicitors, details of which I won't go into but it was upsetting.
To my surprise I managed to sleep ok but woke in a very 'down' mood and that, coupled with cold grey weather put me off swimming.
- had long phone call with DB to discuss next plan re house.
- finished sorting out knitting needles.
- gave kitchen a fairly good clean and tidy.
- made a gooseberry crumble to take round to friend's this evening.
- Mr N cleaned and tidied the spare room and bathroom as we have overnight guests on Tuesday.
- had a nice evening with our musical friend watching an opera (I'd asked for a lively one with some comedy as I needed uplifting; it was a good one) then ate soup followed by the crumble. Sleeting on the way there but not on the way home although only one degree.
Honeybear hope you are feeling better.

Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in five, completed Connections with one life lost, read a few chapters of my book and supped two brews.
I've been thinking 🤔 Feel free to scroll down 🤣
Ive got Saturdailies down to a fine art now: by Saturday lunchtime I'm showered and wearing all clean clothes, all my clothes are washed, there are no dirty pots, and the bins are emptied. It feels like a weekly re-set and allows me to give myself permission to take Saturday afternoon 'off'. To read, Sudoku, watch telly, scroll mindlessly on social media, and just be. 😊
Tuesdays to Fridays are taken up by the paid stuff. And I'm pretty much drained by the time I get home so just the dailies get done on those days: make the bed, feed the birds, and put out the recycling.
So I'm thinking it would be good to have a routine of Sundailies and Mondailies too. A little experimenting will be required to see what works for me. But that's the plan.
To Do Today List
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling
Laundry shuffle

Hoover upstairs
*that would be a good one to have a set day for. If it works for Fayolle maybe it would work for me too.🤔
Hmmm. Maybe concentrate on upstairs on a Sunday and downstairs on a Monday. That might be a good place to start. We'll see what works.
Have a good day. Get well soon to all poorlies

Morning all,
That sounds like a plan, Round. I do find that the scheduled admin a) makes me do it (procrastinator is my middle name) and b) stops me thinking every day that I have a bit here and there to sort out. I have an admin notebook - of course 🤣, but I bet you’re hunting one out now too 😉- and jot down things when I remember them for my next admin session. Seems to work for me, so far this year, anyway. I also have an upstairs day and a downstairs day, as I get easily confused when I flit between the 2 🤣. Great minds, and all that….
Iona, how frustrating. Hey-ho would certainly not be the first word on my lips either.
DH came back from the midweek market laden with f&v, including Seville oranges, which were specifically off the list. So….today’s jobs should include marmalade making, which I’m not feeling enthusiastic about right now. Yesterday I ended up cleaning downstairs and doing random flying jobs in the kitchen, including a freezer audit and a meal plan. That gave me “permission” to spend the afternoon trying to come to grips with my dressmaking pattern. I have some bread proving and blackberries out of the freezer for a blackberry and apple crumble, so the oven will be on and full when I cook dinner later. Apart from that, I may get into the greenhouse to lament that it still feels too cold to get going with any serious growing or nurturing yet. I have, however, pretty much already filled the green bin for this week’s collection.
Have a good day all, see you on the other side x6 -

Methinks a decent vacuum cleaner would make life easier. And I can send the, cough, four not-decent vacuum cleaners to the tip. Or three of them anyway....the one I've just used is good for pokey areas.
I've opened the window in my bedroom and the bathroom to let some air through.

Round, that sounds like an excellent plan. 15 minutes here and there will make a world of difference and that's enough.I would not have said 'Hey ho' either.Fayolle, I assume your OH is the marmalade maker, no? If not, it's time he learned.Thank you Narco for asking. I'm not brilliant, but had a very helpful online consult with a GP on Friday evening and will be going for blood tests on Tuesday, when it suits Belovéd to take me to the local blood-sucking centre. They're brilliantly efficient so by Thursday my results should be with the GP and we can take it from there.2 x WM this morning, some vacuuming and I'm done in. Belovéd is pegging the second load out.Better is good enough.6
