Rushing in so that I can still say Morning, but it will definitely be afternoon by the time that I have typed…
Thank you for the lists. Kitchen needs to be on my list but thanks to the cold, miserable (raining and trying to sleet / snow here) weather, I’m not feeling the love. Level 1 done, bins done for tomorrow’s collection, towels are swishing in the wm. Kettle descaling (very hard water area) with lemon has been designated a Sunday Night Job since the start of the year - the kettle looks nearly new and must surely be more efficient.
We have been to small town this morning to run a couple of errands. My spends totalled £1 for a cs book while I was awaiting for DH to finish his jobs. Back for coffee (very mse, we weren’t even tempted to linger), houseplants watered, next job is to rummage through the fridge and sort the meal plan.Good luck for all those with hospital visits. We are doing that tomorrow, so I am hoping this is the reason for my current long term WAC membership. Fingers crossed that Mr YL hears good news soon.6 -
Tidied kitchen and emptied DW and started restacking it and WULATD before I came to work. DD did the floors on Saturday (she's quite partial to the steam cleaner) but, after yesterdays full roast beef dinner for 7 (emergency chairs and table deployed) you can't really tell.
And I need to decide what to do with the fairly sizeable amount of beef left over. Suggestions appreciated.

Hello folks. I didn't get much done last week TBH, so need to get back into it this week. I have MOP written large on the calendar, so that's my big task for today. Do all the hard floors, apart from the sunroom I did last time and we're not using at the moment. Spent nearly an hour on the phone to Octopus this morning changing our tariff, and just renewed my car insurance at a bargain rate, with £45 cashback due to wing it's way in my direction from Topcashback.I discovered only a couple of weeks back that you can buy yourself giftcards from Topcashback for supermarket spends, amongst others, so I saved 2.5% on Tesco shop last week, and 2% in Sainsbury's. Downloadable to my smart phone, easy peasy money saving.Make £2025 in 2025

Well mopping has been done, as has vacuuming the whole house (apart from the stairs...). I last mopped 3 weeks ago, and the water this time was much cleaner, hardly surprising, which tells me once every 3 weeks is enough. There's only 2 of us and an incredibly clean footed cat (unlike previous moggies), and we don't wear outside shoes in the house.I want to give the carpets a good clean and to that end bought an only used once Vax carpet washer at the weekend. It is very obviously new and a bargain. Just need a dry day so we can throw all the windows open and let the spring air in. I wonder when that will be.Make £2025 in 2025

Hi all
No news on the job front (thanks Fayolle).
Deliberately up late (6.45am). DW emptied, 30 minutes strength training, washing over airer, bed made, shower and hair wash, into the office at 10am. Worked 10am to 8pm with a couple of breaks then home to straighten the kitchen out and make my lunch for tomorrow.
I have had another bad headache. Went to the chemist and saw the pharmacist who was very helpful. I have been having my breakfast late and not eating regularly is very bad for people who are prone to migraines. Who knew. I now have tablets if I need them.6 -
- went to DanceFit
- got a message to say my swim buddy and great friend's Dad died in the night. Not unexpected, but sad. She's been going through the same house clearance/moving parent into care as I have this year. Messaged her.
- dropped into emandess to get overpriced but nice chocs for Mr for Valentine's. Reviewed a couple of meal deal offerings; seems Mr T whoosh their usual meal deal up by £6 and add a starter; C00p's is much cheaper as just a main, side and drink. Probably cheaper to buy some smoked salmon, a couple of steaks and make dessert.
- spent most of the day consolidating my sewing 'chest' with Mum's large sewing box-on-legs. All sorts of things we used to keep in the make-do-and-mend days e.g. bra fastenings (did we ever attach them to anything?), old zips (I don't think I've ever successfully replaced a broken zip - but then I'm not very crafty!). Unravelled a million rolls of cotton/thread in different colours and sorted the colours into different bags.
- one load through DW
- various bits of admin/emails.
- did some drumming practiceRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
I seem to have caught a cold so will give exercise class a miss today. However, I shall attempt all Tuesdailies, dusting under and around appliances in kitchen and walking Poppet. First of four washes is in WM.
Wordle in four.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
