Morning all
Bit grey out today but not raining yet, so first WM load nearly done.
Aiming for all levels in bathroom today - it's not such a loooong job anymore thanks to regular S&Sing. I'm looking forward to the day when all rooms are up to that standard - by 2026??
Also need to do yesterday's (Monday's?) DR/LR leftovers. Today's plan
✔️Open windows
✔️Air & remake bed
WM x3
TD to finish if needed
✔️DW
WUDUPA excess
Go for a walk
Levels 1, 2, & 3 bathroom stuff, plus extras
Living/dining room
Wipe dining/coffee tables and leave tidy
Wipe dining chairs
Tablecloth to WM, replace with fresh one
Wipe coasters & placemats
Vacuum all of downstairs (again!)
Another cuppa first....
☕️

Apart from HHI & vacuuming, all done 🙂 might get second wind & finish before tea, might not 😸"I started out with nothing

Afternoon, I have had a very busy day with uni and paid stuff.
My list for the rest of today
Take DS to/from drama group
Go to work handover meeting
Do uni prep for tomorrow.
S&S kitchen
I think that is everything that I need to get done today. Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday.7 -
Still no news about the job, starting to think he can't have got it but I am keeping that thought to myself.
House is fairly presentable, I did some hoovering yesterday and DH has done some more today. The paid stuff is very busy and a bit stressful but not long until I get a week off.7 -
Did a few random jobs today nothing fantastic,
Emptied the DW
Changed the bed
3 x loads in WM, 1 on the airer and 2 in the TD
A quick sweep round in the kitchen and front room.
Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow7 -
A very bitty day today - I don't feel that I have achieved much.
When I let Rosie out at 6.15am I glanced round the utility and realised that I could probably clear a couple of bits out of the mini 3-drawer stack on the worktop in which I keep Rosie's oddments. I decluttered 2 packets of OOD dog medication and a Kong, leaving one drawer free for all the poo bag rolls and space in the top drawer for the pheromone diffuser, which in turn left space between the top of the drawers and the underside of the wall cupboard for the box of tissues (which had been in the open box with her leads and my gloves and hat) to lie on its side, making it much easier to grab a handful on my way out.
While Rosie was out for her walk with L, I hoovered all through downstairs and upstairs, PUPA in the LR, FUPA clean, dry bedding, and S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom. The rest of the house has stayed tidy, and DH even took his model railway club bag out to the man cave where it belongs, without me having to ask him to do it.
I have also thrown away a few sheets of old correspondence re family history research which has been resolved. My desk is marginally tidier, and the piles of papers on the spare bed are diminishing slowly. I still keep being enticed down rabbit holes, trying to find out if my gt-gt-grandfather really had married someone else before he wed my gt-gt-grandmother (they're both shown as widowed in the marriage register): unfortunately both marriages are pre-1837 so certificates as we know them were not invented, and not all the parish registers are available online.
Tomorrow J the gardener is coming again - only 9 days since his last visit, but he's going on holiday next week so it will then be a 3-week wait for his next session. There is some rampant ivy finding its way through the back fence which I'd like him to cut back very hard!

Started the day by very reluctantly stepping onto the scales. EEK. very eek. So encouraged by all you emerging slinkies, I must make a real effort.
- aqua aerobics
- came out to see a message saying I've got a place on the new zumba class. They haven't run it at my gym since the pandemic, hence my going elsewhere.
- watched first two lots of Mum's stuff on the auction; £30 and £45 so it means whatever happens to the other 3 lots, we've more than broken even, which is good.
- brief phone call with DB. Buyers' solicitor has finally suggested additional wording meaning they will recommend exchanging contracts once we've agreed and signed some sort of affidavit. The end is in sight.
- went out to lunch with biker friends (yes, not good for slinking but I had salmon salad, diet coke and - ok admittedly, Eton mess and a cappuccino). In my defence, it was planned 2 months ago.
- 3rd lot on auction only got £12 but we're still ahead. 2 lots tomorrow.
- another message from DB to say buyers have now indicated on a list we sent them in December, what they want to buy with the house!!! Some of which has already been cleared out..........really, you couldn't make this saga up.
- did some drumming practice
- next sorting project is a bag of wool/fabric and about a trillion knitting needles. Now sitting on dining room table. Any spare needles are being offered to the same friend that will have the sewing stuff, so if I get a wiggle on with sorting, we may be able to declutter it all at the weekend.
- went to new zumba (one closed road, one burst water main, 2 roadworks) and it was fantastic. Really fast. If only they'd put it on every day, I'd soon be slinky......
Can't remember what else I did.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
