I still can’t view my 31st January 2025 statement in the app, unless one wasn’t produced lol 😂 the date might of changed, can’t message via the app! Each time I tried they just cut the conversation & ringing is not an option!

o well might just have to wait to my next one in march hayho stuff happens not end of the world
It's possible they've put the process that generates month end statements on hold, while they process all the required corrections to accounts. Both because they want the statements to include the corrections, and because the processing capacity used to create statements is needed elsewhere.

Personally I would give it a couple of days before worrying. Their chat service is going to be really busy at the moment with people who've suffered financial losses as a result of the outate.

I haven’t banked with Barclays for two years but they sent me an apology email.

Edit: there are people on social media stating payments sent to other banks/ accounts haven’t arrived. Sent on Friday, not arrived and not returned.

If the system went down the payment wouldn't have been made on Friday though. Processing the backlog together with the normal workload will take time to catch up.

When I log into the app! It says there still a back log of messages & they won’t be talking to any new customers chats till the back log is sorted that’s very bad! Must be the same for the phones! Or are they pick & choosing what’s more urgent than not

Just had a text from barclays - yes it was them as its on the same text feed as the one to give me codes to verify my internet purchases.

Text reads: ' Hi, we've found an issue with your debit card, so we've sent you a. Replacement, your old card won't work after 28 days, or as soon as you use your new one.'

Nothing untowards on my online account.

    Has anyone had the same?
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

    Smells fishy to me.
The number a text is sent from can be spoofed i.e. it can impersonate a valid Barclays number.
When the current hubhub has died down, give Barclays a call to see if they really sent you a new card.

You are right to be suspicious, as text messages can be spoofed.

But in this case, the message says a new card is on the way, so if a new card arrives in the next few days there is nothing to worry about. If no card turns up, then the poster should call Barclays to find out where it's gone.

They are probably re-issuing a batch of cards that have been identified as being involved in a data breach.

There's a number to call if you don't receive your card, it's an 0800 number on the last page of your statements.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
  • I don't bank with Barclays but my employer does. I still haven't received my January Salary that was meant to come through on Friday. Only myself and one other employee haven't been paid and I'm now in my overdraft in which I will incur charges from Natwest. I'm waiting for a mortgage application to be accepted so the timing is terrible. Is anyone else still having issues with balances not being updated?
