Sky News reported at 10 am that Barclays have said the problem is now fixed.

Unfortunately, this does not mean the outstanding transfers from Gatehouse have arrived. So as far as I am concerned, the issue is not fixed

Yeah, they said something like it's fixed and now they're working on getting everyone's account up to date. So it's not fixed, not until all the transactions due since Friday morning have been processed!

Really? This surprises me a lot as a customer of theirs; they are perhaps the worst offender when it comes to incomplete or missing self-service flows which can only be completed by visiting a branch, where it seems everything revolves around bits of literal bits of paper being signed and sent around the place.

I get a decent deal from Barclays for what I give them (not a great deal!) but a strong digital offer has never been part of it. The opposite, if anything.

I’d be curious to what the cause is and wonder if there will be an investigation by authorities. Three days of serious issues should not be possible. Barclays are meant to be one of the top banks technology wise.

Barclays were the first to roll out online banking in late 90s. I suspect they have recently neglected spending/investment in IT.

Im glad i ditched Barclays once they starting cutting my overdraft for no good reason.

Barclays are often the first to introduce new ways of banking. When I was a customer I found their software very good. I only left because they refused me an overdraft.

The Barclays app has been a bit flakey for a couple of months now. I just logged in to make a payment (which went through instantly), but my Barclaycard had disappeared from the list of accounts. Log out, log in and it's there again.
This has been happening for at least a couple of months, as well as links within the app showing an 'OOPS' until you go back and try again.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I gave up using the Barclays app ages ago when (probably some wonk in marketing) decided to include a video sequence in the login process and it ground my phone to a halt, and took forever for it to load to the login screen. The app also completely fell over a few times after a naff update.

I was in a branch during these problems, none of the account manager machines were working as when you inserted your card it would just get stuck on the loading screen for ages.

The cash machines were working fine though, for getting account information or withdrawing cash. In this particular branch, it was said they had problems all day with the exception of a brief period of half an hour and then it all fell over again for the rest of the day.

I still can’t view my 31st January 2025 statement in the app, unless one wasn’t produced lol 😂 the date might of changed, can’t message via the app! Each time I tried they just cut the conversation & ringing is not an option!

o well might just have to wait to my next one in march hayho stuff happens not end of the world
